Game Boy Color Longplay [011] Mega Man Xtreme
http://www.longplays.org Played By: Tarosan Mega Man Xtreme, known as Rockman X: Cyber Mission in Japan, is a video game developed by Capcom for the Game Boy Color handheld game console. It is a spin-off title in the Mega Man X series of video games and was followed by one direct sequel, Mega Man Xtreme 2. Chronologically, it takes place sometime between Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X3. The game is a downgraded port of Mega Man X for the SNES, featuring levels, bosses and other elements borrowed from that game, along with some levels from Mega Man X2 and some new content (for instance, a new storyline). Controls were a bit clunky for this one, as a downgraded port though it's alright but not one of the best... excuse the multiple pauses though that was annoying to deal with.

CGR Undertow - MEGA MAN ZERO review for Game Boy Advance
Mega Man Zero review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Mega Man Zero (developed by Inti Creates, published by Capcom) for Nintendo Game Boy Advance, re-released as part of Mega Man Zero Collection for Nintendo DS. I make robots bleed. I learn their tricks and blow up their bretheren. I thought I had this down to a science. I was wrong. Dead, dead wrong. Mega Man Zero beat me up in ways I'd never even imagined. Sure, it felt like Mega Man X, or like a less touch-intensive form of Mega Man ZX, but it had a mean streak a mile wide and two miles thick. And there's three more of these to go? Better get some milk to wash down these cyber-elves, then. This video review features video gameplay footage of Mega Man Zero for Nintendo DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ. Mega Man Xtreme (Game Boy Color) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Capcom's 2000 action platformer for the Nintendo Game Boy Color, Mega Man Xtreme. This video shows the game finished in both normal and hard modes in order to show all of the robot master stages. Mega Man Xtreme - you have to love just how clearly the title gives away the time period in which this was produced. Finally, we were able to play Mega Man X while flipping between the X-Games and The X-Files on the TV, all while chugging on an Xtreme Gulp from 7-11. Mega Man Xtreme was an 8-bit "demake" of Mega Man X and X2, with a new/old plot that has X fighting the data of robots from the past. It's enough to drive the action, and doesn't veer too far at all from the original game. For as absurd as it seems to shoehorn these SNES classics into such limited hardware, Xtreme does what it set out to do, and does it admirably well. The style isn't like the original Gameboy game Mega Man games - the sprites are much smaller here, preserving the original game's sense of scale much more accurately. The trade-off is that sprites have far less detail, but they animate fluidly and are easily identifiable at a glance, and despite some simplifications, the stages all remain similar to the console games' ones. The sound holds up , as well. It couldn't have been easy adapting the rock-style soundtracks to a machine with four sound channels, but they're all here and still just as catchy in their rinky-dink PSG forms. The gameplay is the biggest surprise, though. Sure, fewer buttons means you're jumping into menus to switch weapons, but the controls are tight and the challenge is stiff. It actually feels like a MMX game! I loved Mega Man Xtreme. It's not the flashiest or most technically impressive GBC game you'll ever see, but there's a ton of quality gameplay packed into this cart. *Recorded using Retroarch LCD shaders for that dot-matrix look. _ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Rockman World 5 (No Damage Run)
Tool-Assisted. Final entry in the Classic GB series, known as Mega Man V in North America. This is by far the best game in the GB series. Rather than recycling content from NES games, everything here is completely new (enemies, robot masters, music, etc). It's also the only in the series to make use of SGB enhancements, which I made sure to activate on my playthrough. I collected all of the hidden jewels of the game. Unfortunately, it's impossible to gather them all in one go without revisiting a robot master stage at least once, so I had to do it. Basically, you need Pluto's weapon to get the jewel from Uranus' level, and Uranus' weapon to get the Jewel from Pluto. So yeah. Enjoy!

Mega Man V (Super Game Boy) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Capcom's 1994 platformer for the Nintendo Game Boy, Mega Man V. I played this through the Super Game Boy adapter for the Super Nintendo, providing the tailored color schemes and screen border that (obviously) you'd never see playing it on the handheld. Mega Man V is a pretty good finish to the long-running Game Boy series. It's not quite as memorable or polished as III and IV, but it brings a lot of originality to the series, right at the point where it was beginning to stagnate. The most noticable change is that there are no longer "Robot Masters" all called ____ Man. They're all planet guardians now with some really odd powers - Salt Water, anyone? I don't like it as much as I do III and IV, but still, it's a fine game and worth any Mega Man fan's time. ____ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Mega Man Gameboy 1-5 Dr Wily Music
Dr Wily music from every Gameboy Mega Man game! Not as easy to find, this is a collection of all the Dr Wily stage music from the Gameboy games, and they're just as good as the NES tracks. Mega Man 10 for the Wii has three special stages that were based on the actual Gameboy Wily levels, not to mention you fight the Gameboy robots Enker, Punk, and Ballade. The music from Special Stage 1 on the Wii is actually a remix of the first Wily track from the Gameboy. This video contains 6 tracks, plus an excerpt from a remix at the end. You can download the remix here: http://www.themmnetwork.com/wiki/index.php?title=Music_by_Yuu Rockman World 2 - Opening Theme by Phoenix Project / Yuu

ROR Mega Man & Bass (SFC Vs. GBA) | A Critical Defense (feat. J's Reviews)
PLEASE WATCH IN FULL SCREEN 1080p60 FOR BEST RESULTS. Remake or Rebreak is back with the first ever collaboration on the segment! Mega Man and Bass is often considered one of the worst Mega Man games ever made, but after getting it on a reproduction cart this past April, I felt compelled to throw my own hat into the ring. Originally release only in Japan on the Super Famicom in 1998, the game was later rereleased internationally on the Game Boy Advance in 2002 and underwent some changes worth discussing. Seeing as the GBA rerelease is the only version most North Americans have played, it becomes especially important to know the differences between the two versions and stack them up against each other. Without further ado, this is the long anticipated (and long running) episode of Mega Man and Bass! Additionally, a Re-Meh may not address the original's salient issues or fail to add anything meaningful. 3- Remake: As good or even slightly better than the original, but not necessarily worth playing if you already own that version. Typically adds some new content or fixes salient issues with the original. 4- Replace: A remake/port that changes, fixes, and adds so much that it renders the original virtually obsolete. A Replace not only faithfully recreates the original, but fixes most (if not all) of the original's issues and adds a sizable amount of new content.

Mega Man (Game Gear) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A beginning to end playthrough of U.S. Gold's 1995 Sega Game Gear game, Mega Man. Played through on the hard difficulty level. Much better than most games that ever saw release by U.S. Gold, who is notorious for some heinously bad PC ports in the late 80s/early 90s, Megaman for the Game Gear is a mashup of bosses and stages from Megaman 4 and 5 for the NES. The graphics are super zoomed in, but they convincingly mimic the NES games' graphics (even if cheap hits and blind jumps are far more commonplace because of this). The sound is as faithfully reproduced as possible given the weak sound hardware shared between the Master System and the GG. The game runs much slower and is significantly easier, though, than any of its counterparts on the NES. It's also MUCH shorter, being only 8 stages long, but overall, it manages to capture the spirit of the series likely just as well as Minakuchi, the developer of Mega Man 1, and 3-5 on the Game Boy, could have. The Game Boy Mega Man games were excellent, and the sole Game Gear one sits right about on par with its monochromatic counterparts. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's well worth playing. *Recorded using LCD shaders through Retroarch* _____________________ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. The classic series is considered to be the origin of the story, with Mega Man being the first installment, and continuing with ten direct sequels. Chronologically after Mega Man 8 comes Mega Man & Bass, followed by Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. Although the classic series has yet to reach an ending, the storyline shifts to the Mega Man X series, followed by the Mega Man Zero series, Mega Man ZX and Mega Man Legends. Although it is confirmed that the Legends series takes place sometime in the distant future after the ZX series, there is an uncertain amount of time as to when it actually takes place. All series follow one continuous timeline except for Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force which exist in an alternate universe (one in which network technology flourished instead of robotics technology), with Star Force occurring two centuries after the Battle Network series. The official source book Rockman Perfect Memories outlines the Classic, X, and Legends series and makes mention of the Battle Network and Zero series (which were fairly new at the time of the book's publication). While the ZX and Star Force series were not yet conceived when the source book was published, Capcom is explicit within the games themselves regarding their placement in the timeline. ==================== Think this Video Game Video was awesome and funny! Mega Man II GB Remade
Support me on Patreon! http://www.patreon.com/rushjet1 MP3+NSF: https://rushjet1.bandcamp.com/album/mega-man-ii-gb-remade Ah, Mega Man 2 for Game Boy. This soundtrack had some cool ideas but also had some very jarring dissonance and high pitch sounds. I tried to balance staying faithful to the original tracks and making them sound good, though with some of them I just threw out the original harmonies and came up with something new. Hope you enjoy! Had to reupload this as Movie Maker messed up the audio a bunch.

What Mega Man II Should Have Sounded Like
The goal of this project was to recreate the Mega Man II soundtrack to make it more resemble the other Mega Man games on Gameboy. I arranged every song so that they are now at a reasonable pitch, so that they use the more refined bass instruments from the other Mega Man Gameboy games, and so that they many include other minor touches that make them sound much better than the original soundtrack. Since this was made in Famitracker, this is only Gameboy-style, not technically Gameboy compatible. https://www.dropbox.com/s/s5xmfb00vjibwv9/MMII%20Gameboy%20Remake.zip?dl=0 This download contains every track in MP3 form (they loop and fade exactly how they do in the video), as well as the source FTM. If you like this project, I highly recommend downloading the FTM for yourself because you can experiment with the different bass instruments that I ripped directly from the various Mega Man Gameboy games. Here's where I want to give thanks to those who (indirectly) contributed to this project. First to Phil Reed (aka the Save-State Gamer) for his great playthrough of the game. Without it I may have never been so fascinated by this game to begin with. Thanks to Warheart for explaining how to recreate the various bass instruments from the Mega Man Gameboy games in the comment section of his Mars video. Without it this project may have never been more than an idea! And finally, thanks to RushJet1, ZeroJanitor, and Jasper Valentine for their fantastic Mega Man II covers. Their renditions were inspiring, and I definitely took some of their flourishes when recreating the soundtrack myself. And finally, I want to comment on every individual song to note the most significant changes that I made. Also, it is important to clarify that I didn't use any MIDIs when constructing this (unlike my first MMII cover project in OrgMaker). Since they were all done by ear, they *should* sound entirely accurate. For some reason YouTube says my description is too long???? so here is a Pastebin entry with the changes I made: http://pastebin.com/dxB805N7

Mega Man III (Game Boy) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Capcom's 1992 platformer for the Nintendo Game Boy, Mega Man III. Mega Man III is an amazing step up from the Game Boy series' second entry, and despite being on Game Boy hardware, this release managed to achieve near parity with the quality of the NES titles. This "remix" (made up of pieces from MM3 and MM4 on the NES) has graphics that are surprisingly close to the originals with the animated backgrounds and large, detailed sprites, and the music doesn't lose much of anything in the transition. It's a fantastic game that sidesteps the pitfalls of Mega Man II, and it handily one-ups Dr. Wily's Revenge in just about every possible way. *Recorded using the DMG shader in Retroarch for that authentic look. _ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. CGRundertow MEGA MAN & BASS for Game Boy Advance Video Game Review
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Megaman and Bass, an action platformer developed and published in 2002 by Capcom for the Gameboy Advance. An unusual alliance forms as the rogue robot King steals blueprint data from a robotics museum and threatens to start a revolution. Control Megaman or Bass, beat the eight robot masters, and gather the stolen data (and gain some insight into the series) in this portable port of one of the last games of the 16 bit era. This CGRundertow video game review features video gameplay footage of Megaman and Bass for the GBA and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ. Mega Man (Genesis) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Mega Man as it appears in Capcom's 1994 compilation title for the Sega Genesis, Mega Man: The Wily Wars. The Wily Wars was a compilation of the first three Megaman NES games, remade with a new 16-bit facelift. It was only released across the Sega Channel in the US, though it got a cartridge release in Japan and in Europe. The US version is no longer accessible, unfortunately. The Sega Channel service has been defunct for a verrrry long time now, and the cartridges didn't hold their data once the console was turned off. It had to be downloaded over dial-up everytime you wanted to play it. And in 1994, over a then-standard 28.8k modem, this two-megabyte cart took an excruciatingly long time to load. That is, if you could even get the download finished before something booted you off the phone line. Remember how often that used to happen? So, this recording is of the European version. The Euro version is identical to the US version, but it runs super-slowly in PAL. The cartridge also throws up an error if you plug it into an NTSC console, so the problem can't be fixed that way. I'm using a game that's been patched to run on any console - as a result, it is running at the NTSC standard (60hz) rather than the cart's default PAL (50hz) rate. It might not sound like a big difference, but anyone from Europe can tell you how excruciating a game can be when it's running 17% slower than it should, and with big borders to further add insult to injury. So long story short - this is how the US version played back in 1994. The graphical upgrade is cool (the parallax in many stages looks really nice), the music remixes tend to be hit or miss. The controls are a bit more awkward, however, which messes the flow of the game up a bit, since the arm cannon is WAY slower to shoot now than it ever was, and there's a weird pause when you first begin to move before Mega Man will start running (which makes timing jumps from a standstill quite difficult at some points). Overall, it's quite good, but it doesn't feel quite right if you know the NES versions by heart. Actually, on second thought, the controls feel closer to the Game Boy versions than they do the NES, and it just occured to me that Wily Wars and the GB MM games share the same developer, Minakuchi Engineering, for whatever that observation is worth. _ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Mega Man 7 (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Capcom's 1995 Super Nintendo game, Mega Man 7. In this video I collect all of the extra, optional stuff throughout. I worked things out so that I could get everything without having to revisit any of the stages - in case you were wondering by I don't always take them in the order of threw bosses' weaknesses. This is a really odd feeling game. It has the Game Boy versions' intital four-boss only stage select in play, and the graphics feel scaled to proportions closer to the GB screen than the NES games - the sprites are huge! To give credit where credit is due, the sprites look great: the style is quite similar to that in Mega Man 8, and there is some really impressive use of color. But because they are so oversized, the stages feel wicked claustrophobic. And even though they all look great, the sprite animation feels a bit... lacking, for a better term. It feels too stiff in contrast to the level of detail. The SNES certainly could handle better than is on show here - maybe it was a consequence of the tiny 16mbit ROM it shipped on? I really did love the shoutouts to older games though - that robot museum area is really cool. The controls are also a bit laggy at times, and in general, the whole thing just feels kinda meh... it's a complete rehash of other stuff with less spirit behind it. Granted, it was developed in just a few months by seven guys, but Mega Man's main series really deserved a bit more attention and time... the Mega Man line is a bit of a legacy, and while this game is quite good, it's definitely weak for a numbered Mega Man game. I'd put Mega Man 7 right about even with Mega Man 6 for relative awesomeness. It's much better than 5 was, but it's no 1-4. Oh well. Mega Man 7 is ultimately a but pretty average game, and nowadays, buying a legitimate original copy will set you back an exorbitant sum. Unless you have cash to burn, there are several good games that you could buy for the cost of this one. Or, you know, just pick up one of the several collections that let you play it emulated. Hope you enjoy the playthrough! Oh, and what's up with that animation when you enter the shop? It looks so gross when you enter, like you've been inhaled by some sort of robotic prolapse. I've always thought of it as the Goatse Shop. Uck, I know. *This video is a brand new playthrough to replace my older, lower quality one in the SNES playlist. _ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Boyographic - Mega Man IV Review
Rocking on with Mega May has brought us to Mega Man VI! Minakuchi Engineering's hotly contested entry for best Mega Man game in the entire run on the Nintendo Gameboy. Is it all Rock-Man-Roll? Or a complete Mega Bust? Again, apologies for this video's slight delay, they've made me realise how passionate I am about the history of certain video games, so will be adjusting my production schedule to accommodate this in the future :) This is the 42nd episode of Boyographic, the series looking to highlight the highs and lows of the Gameboy library, playing the hits and the misses so you don't have to! [TAS] GB Mega Man III by Tremane & Mothrayas in 23:08.79
This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see http://tasvideos.org/3209M.html. TAS originally published on 2016-09-03. Mega Man III, known as Rockman World 3 (ロックマンワールド3) in Japan, is the third Mega Man game for Game Boy, released in December 1992. The game continues the quest of the protagonist, Mega Man, in a never-ending struggle with his long-time nemesis, Dr. Wily. As with previous Game Boy releases, the game incorporates gameplay elements and bosses from two sequential Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games: Mega Man 3 and Mega Man 4. For those of you who enjoy listening to the music, the background music in this one is quite good, and the sound quality is much better than previous Mega Man games for the system. This is an improvement to the predecessor movie (http://tasvideos.org/722M.html) by 265 frames, which translates to 225 frames if you only count actual gameplay. This is the result of difference in loading times between VBA and BizHawk.

My top 5 original Megaman Gameboy Games.
Well, after my first original Megaman countdown, I found some roms and old Megaman gameboy games. Now that I've replayed and beaten them, I decided to make a countdown. Remember, this is my list; if you don't agree then leave your top 5 in the comments. #5- Man, this game was hard; too hard. It just made the game lose it's value and meaning in my opinion, and I had more frustration than joy while playing it. #4- The first three games for the Gameboy are very similar, but this one is different. After the first four robot masters you go to Wily's and fight the other four, obtaining there powers in about 5 minutes. It makes it feel like the game wasn't worth it. #3- Some say this is the best, I disagree. This is the breaking point; it's not to bland, but it doesn't have something to make it stick out to me. That's why I put it in the middle of the list. #2- I liked this one a lot. It was the first one I replayed, and it reminded me of my favorite Original NES game (because of the robot masters.) #1- This is obviously the most original. Completely original robot masters, a store with items you could ONLY GET THROUGH THE STORE (unlike number 3 on the list,) and the story was original. I also enjoyed playing it all the way through and was very glad that I stumbled upon it. Well, there you go! I hope you enjoyed it!
