Magnus Carlsen vs Fabiano Caruana | 2018 World Chess Championship | Game 4

21:45
World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway defends his title against challenger Fabiano Caruana of the United States in Game 4 of the 2018 World Chess Championship match that is being held in London. It's a best of 12 games where the first player to earn 6.5 points earns the lion's share of a $1.14 million prize pool, and the title of "World Chess Champion". Both players entered game 4 with 1.5 points each. A new opening in this match surfaces in game 4 with Carlsen electing the English Opening. Caruana's 6th move is not the most popular option, yet one which ultimately makes Carlsen, in yet another game, have a think first. Carlsen's 14th move is followed in an illogical way, with the game soon transitioning to an endgame where both sides of the board experience play. PGN: 1. c4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Caruana - Carlsen Game 3 World Chess Championship 2018 | Grandmaster Analysis

Carlsen vs Caruana World Chess Championship 2018 playlist: http://bit.ly/duel2018 Caruana vs Carlsen Game 3 German analysis video: https://youtu.be/3IFksPyroi0 This is my game analysis of game 3 of the 2018 FIDE World Chess Championship between reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen from Norway and his challenger Fabiano Caruana from the U.S. Feel free to subscribe to my channel to be notified when I publish new analyses. I have published a book on the rivalry of Carlsen and Caruana, including all the games they have played up to the match with detailed move-to-move explanations. Carlsen vs Caruana - Duel of Giants on Amazon: http://bit.ly/CarlsenVsCaruana Carlsen vs Caruana - Duel of Giants on Forward Chess: http://bit.ly/forwardchess More information on the World Chess Championship (from chess24): The 2018 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 12-game match taking place between Norwegian World Champion Magnus Carlsen and his US challenger Fabiano Caruana. The match starts in The College, London on November 9th and will be won by the first player to reach 6.5 points in the classical games. If those end in a 6-6 tie tiebreaks will be played on November 28th. The prize fund is 1 million euros, split 60% to the winner and 40% to the loser. If the match is decided in tiebreaks that changes to 55/45. The classical time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, then 50 minutes for 20 moves and then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. The tiebreaks begin with four 25+10 rapid games. If still tied two 5+3 blitz games will be played, and if drawn again up to four more blitz mini-matches will follow. If still equal, one last Armageddon game will be played, where White has 5 minutes to Black's 4, but a draw will make the player with Black the World Champion. There will be a 3-second increment from move 61. Official website: worldchess.com Thanks to Lennart Ootes for letting me use his fabulous pictures! Magnus Carlsen vs Fabiano Caruana | 2018 World Chess Championship | Game 2

23:56
World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway defends his title against challenger Fabiano Caruana of the United States in Game 2 of the 2018 World Chess Championship match that is being held in London. It's a best of 12 games where the first player to earn 6.5 points earns the lion's share of a $1.14 million prize pool, and the title of "World Chess Champion". Both players entered game 2 with a half-point each. Is it normal for the black side to at some point be pressing in these top level games? No, but this has thus far been the story in this championship with a revisit to a rook and pawn endgame. PGN: 1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 d5 3. c4 e6 4. Nc3 Be7 5. Fabiano Caruana vs Magnus Carlsen | 2018 World Chess Championship | Game 3

24:56
World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway defends his title against challenger Fabiano Caruana of the United States in Game 3 of the 2018 World Chess Championship match that is being held in London. It's a best of 12 games where the first player to earn 6.5 points earns the lion's share of a $1.14 million prize pool, and the title of "World Chess Champion". Both players entered game 3 with 1 point each. We revisit a Sicilian Defense, Rossolimo variation in this game where play deviates with white's 6th move. Unlike game 1, Caruana's h-pawn stayed home for awhile, and files were cracked open on the queenside. Once a minor piece specific endgame arose, earning the full point would become difficult. Even so, Carlsen has demonstrated time and time again how one can try to extract blood from a stone. PGN: 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Caruana vs Carlsen | A battle before the 2018 World Chess Championship

22:36
Featured in this video is the Round 1 game of the 2018 Grenke Chess Classic between Fabiano Caruana (white), and Magnus Carlsen (black). This is Caruana and Carlsen's first tournament encounter since learning they will both be competing in the 2018 World Chess Championship Match come November of 2018. Fabiano Caruana will play challenger to the defending World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen. In this game Caruana opens with a non-confrontational setup that doesn't acheive any advantage as white, but rather some playable/normal position. Carlsen opts for a King's Indian Defense setup, with play beginning to sharp as early as move 12. We witness multiple structural imbalances, each side obtaining a majority, and an all important minor piece imbalance as well. Once the endgame arrives, and only one rook remains for each player, the quality of the pawns would be king. PGN: 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nf3 Bg7 4. e3 O-O 5. Be2 d6 6. Game 9 - Viswanathan Anand vs Magnus Carlsen | FIDE World Championship 2013

03:55:24
Game 9 of the Anand - Carlsen FIDE World Championship 2013 match should be one that will define the world chess championship match. The scoreline reading 5-3 favoring the Norwegian leaves less options for the Indian in the final one third of the match. Aggression, attack, positive play are the options left for the Indian chess king. Anand will be expected to play sharp and also hopefully for the Indians, reduce the deficit. Anand has scored 3.5/4 in a world championship match at Tehran 2000. He will need to repeat that to keep the title. Carlsen who is enjoying a double point lead is sitting pretty. People in Norway are expecting a change of guard as to who rules world chess from November 28, 2013. Catch all the matches live and exclusive here on youtube.com/aicfofficial. Caruana vs Carlsen | World Chess Championship 2018 - Game 1

27:58
Fabiano Caruana and Magnus Carlsen started their 2018 World Chess Championship Match in London today on the 9th of November. Caruana had the white pieces and opened up with his king's pawn, pawn to e4. Carlsen provided the first shock of the match by playing 1...c5 the Sicilian, a move he hasn't employed in Classic World Championship matches. A tremendous battle ensued with Carlsen's bishop pair compensating his worse structure. 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 g6 4. Bxc6 dxc6 5. d3 Bg7 6. h3 Nf6 7. Nc3 Nd7 8. Be3 e5 9. O-O b6 10. The 1st World Chess Championship Game

11:27
When was the 1st World Chess Championship game played, who played in it, and what happened on the board? The featured game was played on January 11th, 1886 and was between Johannes Zukertort (White) and Wilhelm Steinitz (Black). This game from over 130 years ago is certainly an interesting one to look back on. What type of gameplay occurred? Would it be primarily tactical, positional, or a blend of both? Are there any other worthwhile notes to take away from this game? See for yourself!
