December 10th, 1968. It was pouring rain. The bank manager of the Nihon Trust bank was on edge. Someone had threatened his life and those around him over the past few months. Just four days prior, a letter (one of recent many) was sent to his personal residence demanding 300 million yen or his house would be blown up with dynamite. The letter was made up of characters cut out and pasted from movie magazines. Police were notified; and indeed they kept a close eye on the bank and his home; though, this did not ease the mind of the bank manager who shared his concerns with his branch employees. Now of course, this is Japan, and work is work; the show must go on. With this in mind, the bank manager went on with his duties, sending four of his employees to the nearby Toshiba factory to make a scheduled drop. So off they went, taking the company car, but not long after leaving the bank, the four heard police sirens approaching. (At that very moment they happened to be next to a prison of all places). A police officer screeched to a halt in front of the car, and frantically got off his motorcycle to warn them. ... (cont. in the vid) In no particular order, here are some things the stories are about: - Fake police officer - Dynamite - 1700 ATMs - 7-Elevens - Largest heist team ever - Polite thank you note - Cyanide - Post-war Tokyo - US occupation - Dysentery outbreak - Fake health inspector - Department of Disease Prevention - Business cards - Death row - Sadamichi Hirasawa - Pornographic drawings - Unit 731, a covert biological & chemical warfare research & development unit of the Imperial Japanese Army - Cyber crime - Virtual currency - Coincheck company - Biggest cryptocurrency heist in history - Hackers - NEM - "Hot wallet" - Online security

(THE 7 CHOICES) If you were living in North Korea right now - trying to survive on a diet of rats, grass, soil and tree bark, quenching your thirst by drinking out of mud puddles in the ground - what would you do? There's also the conceivable chance of being sent to a political prison camp for years on end just because you innocently thought out loud one day to a bunch of friends (North Korean propaganda is strong), where you are then beaten, tortured, and left so hungry that you are forced to dig and consume the grains out of faeces, or the maggots from dead bodies just so you have the energy to perhaps last one more day. You'd probably wanna escape. But how? The North Korean government in Pyongyang refuses to let its citizens leave, a clear violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, viewing North Korean defectors as traitorous criminals. Captured North Koreans would be subject to unimaginable torture and often public executions. If they are successful in their escape, then three to four generations of their family back home would be sent to North Korean prison camps to rot ....or worse. This is a strong deterrent. But this still doesn't stop desperate North Koreans from tempting fate. In this video, I'll go over the seven ways to escape the DPRK, including the most dangerous, the most unforgiving, the most unique, and the most unexpected. The North Korean border on the south side (ie. South Korean border / Korean DMZ) is the shortest distance to travel for safety and stability but as a result, the regime makes it dangerously hard. A North Korean escapee can be shot down by North Korean soldiers (border guards) or step on the many landmines in the area. The northern border to China has it's own set of challenges. Most North Korean refugees escape through this way, usually crossing the Tumen River border (like the famous North Korean defector Hyeonseo Lee). Once in China, the nightmare doesn't end there. There are also other, more unconventional ways you can try to escape such as through North Korean labor camps. Even if you make it to safety and resettle in a stable country, the North Korean regime will still try to hunt you down, so you're never truly safe. Especially if you're an outspoken critic or a threat to Kim Jong-un's power - just ask his half brother, Kim Jong-nam If you are watching this video and are a North Korean refugee, I'd love to hear from you. I wanted to share a personal story with you from my family history. It’s about my grandpa, Hiroharu, and how he survived the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb on August 6th, 1945. Hiroshima was the first city in history to be targeted by a nuclear weapon. 90,000 to 166,000 people were killed in Hiroshima; and in the total, the two atomic bombs killed 130,000 to 246,000 people. Many who survived the initial blast roamed the streets like walking zombies, with their melted skin dripping off their bodies due to the heat of the radiation. Those who survived the initial effects of the bomb had to contend with radiation poisoning for years to come. My grandpa witnessed all of this. I want to say that I’m not trying to make any sort of political statement here, I’m just trying to tell my grandpa’s story. Thank you. Thanks for watching! (THE 7 CHOICES) If you were put in charge of one mission - to take down the North Korean regime - a mission that had previously left world leaders beaten and befuddled, where failure could result in changes to the political and physical landscape for generations to come….what would you do? And time is of the essence here, as the longer you wait, the likelier it is for Dear Leader to complete development of nukes capable of reaching the continental US, or perhaps anywhere else in the world. Actually, according to some reports, it might already be too late! But whether North Korea actually fires is another question altogether. If we are to rid the world of this nefarious regime - I’m talking the regime not the people - we have to consider the options. In this video, I’ll go over the seven way to take down North Korea - including the most destructive, the most convenient, the most secretive, and the most unexpected. It is perhaps the most referenced physical attribute for Asian people. But what exactly makes an eye look Asian, and is the stereotypical small and slanted version accurate? In this video I go over the different types of Asian eyes - from the epicanthic fold varieties to eyelid crease specifics. Single eyelids (monolid), double eyelid, demi eyelid, hooded eyelid, puffy eyelid, we cover it all! At the end, I check to see what kind of Asian eye I have! Note: The epicanthic fold is also known as epicanthal fold, epicanthus, Mongolian fold, plica palpebronasalis and palpebronasal fold. Villagers near the Southern Ural mountains were scared, they were terrified. Men claiming to be from the government had appeared out of nowhere, ordering people to leave their homes. Without warning, they started burying crops, and slaughtering livestock; their livestock. The villagers were in shock; they were confused. What was going on? They were being forced away; but they soon realized it wasn’t just their village, it was everyone’s village. And some people looked ill. The only information given was that there had been an outbreak of a ‘special disease’, and everyone needed to leave. The source of this disease was a mystery. Was it the river? The lake? Was it the strange lights people saw in the sky not long ago? Nothing was revealed. They felt helpless. Looking back at their village, they were horrified at what they saw. Their homes were now on fire. Everything was being incinerated. This happened in 1957, but what lead to this moment actually started 12 years earlier.... According to the World Health Organization, this is the average life expectancy in the country of Sierra Leone. As of now, one of the lowest in the world. At the other end of the spectrum, we have countries like Italy, Iceland, Singapore and Switzerland all with an average life expectancy well into their 80’s. Now beating all those countries however, is (of course) Japan, topping the list at 83.7 years. (Note that the UN data is a little different). Regardless, this is the country with the longest average life expectancy. But, this video is not about Japan, because there is a city with an even longer life expectancy. This is Hong Kong, a city with over 7.4 million people living on about a thousand square kilometres of land. One of the most densely populated places on the planet - a fast paced city that never sleeps. It’s a city of contradictions with towering buildings next to lush green mountains, street food stalls alongside McDonald’s & KFC’s, markets selling cheap counterfeits in front of designer stores, but the most surprising perhaps is the extremely long life expectancy of the people living in what is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Hong Kong has an average life expectancy of 84.3 years. Ironically enough, Hong Kong literally translates to ‘Fragrant Harbour’. This video will cover: - Hong Kong weather and climate - Londons' Great Smog of 1952 - Geographical access to good food - Cuisine / diet - Accessibility of walkways and footpaths - Fitness and habits - Taichi & Qigong - Environment - WHO global network of age-friendly cities - Hong Kong's healthcare system / primary care / hospital treatment - Smoking - Strong family ties - Mahjong - Retirement age - Many older generation Hong Kongers were not boring in China, but in Mainland China - China's Cultural Revolution

A 9.0 magnitude. This of course triggered a massive tsunami that wrecked the north eastern coastline. Japan was simply not as prepared as they thought they were for such a disaster. If that wasn’t bad enough, there was a Level 7 nuclear emergency at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant comparable to Chernobyl. 1) Every 800 to 1100 Years From analysing the Holocene sequence in the Sendai area, it’s known that sometime between 1000 BC and 500 BC, a massive tsunami-generating earthquake hit the area. Then in 1 AD, it hit again. Over 800 years later, The Sanriku Earthquake and Tsunami of 869, devastated the same area in and around Sendai. That’s 3 events of similar type and magnitude in the same region all in the last 3000 years. This indicates a recurrence interval of 800 to 1100 years. We were due another one... 2) Antarctic Ice Seismic waves increased the flow of the Whillans Ice Stream in Antarctica, which is essentially a moving ice river. Sea waves, having traveled 13,000 km broke icebergs the size of Manhattan off the Sulzberger Ice Shelf. 3) Planetary Changes The Earth’s axis shifted by 10 to 25 cm, which changed the tilt of the planet and the length of a day-. That’s right; the redistribution of Earth’s mass shortened our day by almost two microseconds. 4) Costliest Natural Disaster The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, $15 billion The 9/11 Terrorist Attacks, $20.7 billion Hurricane Katrina in 2005, $45 billion The 2008 Sichuan Earthquake in China, $148 billion The 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan? Over $300 billion 5) Gaman In Japan, immediately following the earthquake, there was a notable lack of disorder. People remained calm despite having every right to freak out. They formed orderly lines outside supermarkets even though they were desperate for food. This act of civility is due to what the Japanese call, Gaman. Gaman means to do one’s best in times of distress, to maintain self control and discipline. There is a national desire to see civility prevail, no matter the circumstances, even when one catastrophe piles onto another. 6) Yakuza Crime Syndicate Members of the Yakuza, Japan’s organised crime syndicate, helped enforce order on the streets. 7) North Korean Assist North Korea donated a $100,000 US to the Japanese Red Cross Society, and the late former leader Kim Jong-Il himself sent half a million dollars to Korean residents in Japan caught up in the disaster. 8) Celebrity Aid All around the world, many celebrities privately donated to the relief effort, including Hikaru Utada, Gackt, AKB48, Girls’ Generation, Jackie Chan, Clint Eastwood, Sandra Bullock, Gwen Stefani, Shakira, Black Eyed Peas, My Chemical Romance, and Lady Gaga. 9) Ghost Passengers Police have received hundreds of reports from people who have apparently seen ghosts in tsunami-devastated towns. Taxi drivers in particular have reported picking up ghost passengers. 10) Vindicated Mayor Wamura became the mayor of Fudai, and in 1972, he started construction on a 15.5 meter floodgate. The total cost was 3.56 billion yen. Many residents as well as the village council felt a floodgate of that size was unnecessary. It was reckless spending from a foolish mayor. The Tohoku tsunami destroying towns along the north eastern coast. Fudai, however, was spared. Wamura’s floodgate had prevented much of the water from coming in. He had saved the town that had doubted him. Today, Kotaku Wamura is remembered as a hero, the saviour of Fudai. ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! It should be more on the left side of Kyushu island. 1) Godzilla Godzilla, the giant Japanese dinosaur-looking monster, a worldwide pop culture icon; who’s been in numerous movies. Why am I mentioning this? Well, Godzilla owes its existence to the atomic bombs. In the aftermath, with the devastation still fresh in the Japanese consciousness, Godzilla was created as a metaphor for nuclear weapons and their destructive capabilities. 2) The Korean Casualties An enormous number of Koreans also perished in the blast. In fact, around 25% of casualties were Koreans. Korea was under Japanese rule at the time so there were many drafted or conscripted Koreans in Hiroshima & Nagasaki. It’s unfortunate that the Korean victims of this tragedy have often been neglected 3) Close Call Kyoto Today’s Kyoto landscape would have been greatly altered, and not for the better, if the Americans had gone about their original plan. The targets were in fact supposed to be Hiroshima & Kyoto. However, the US Secretary of War at the time, Henry L Stimson, insisted on sparing the city 4) The Pamphlet Warnings Just prior to dropping the Atomic bombs, the US Airforce released pamphlets or leaflets from their planes warning Japanese citizens of the impending destruction. They were largely ineffective. 5) The Little Boy & The Fat Man These were the American codenames of the two atomic bombs. 6) The American Casualties 12 American airmen were captured, then taken to the Chugoku Military Police Headquarters in Hiroshima, where the American weapon of mass destruction indiscriminately took them out. 7) Go An important Go tournament was held in the suburbs of Hiroshima, about 5 km from ground zero; a pivotal match up was ongoing between champion Hashimoto and the challenger Iwamoto. When the atomic bomb went off, people were injured, buildings were damaged, and the game came to an immediate halt. Fortunately no one died as tournament officials had earlier moved the game away from the blast radius after coming across the American pamphlets. The players took this opportunity to have a quick lunch break. Afterwards on the same day, they finished the game. White won. 8) Operation Meetinghouse As devastating as the atomic bombs were, it didn’t even rank as the most destructive bombing event of WW2. That title goes to the deathly firebombing of Tokyo by the US Air Force, also known as Operation Meetinghouse. This was estimated to be the single most destructive bombing attack not just in Japan, but in history. 9) The Flame Of Peace The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park was built in dedication to the legacy of Hiroshima as the first city in the world to suffer a nuclear attack. In the park, sits The Flame of Peace which has burned continuously since 1964, and will remain lit until all nuclear weapons are removed from the world and the planet is free from nuclear threat. 10) The Improbable Survivor Tsutomu Yamaguchi worked for the Mitsubishi company, and on August 6th, 1945, he was away from home on a business trip in Hiroshima. He witnessed the Little Boy dropping from the sky and the explosion ruptured his eardrums, blinded him, and left him with serious burns. But he was alive. The very next day, he dragged his body to a station, made his way out of Hiroshima and back to his hometown. At home, he finally received treatment for his wounds. Two days later, despite being seriously injured and heavily bandaged, he informed Mitsubishi that he was back from his Hiroshima business trip and ready to report to work. So, he went to work, as if nothing major had happened. Yamaguchi was lucky to have survived the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb. However, he was unlucky that he went back home.. ..to Nagasaki.. ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF & things you just didn't know about Asia!

"Asians are not actually yellow!" "Hey, Asians aren’t cowards!" "There is no ONE Asian colour!" "Did you know Yellow or Yellow Peril is rooted in historical irrational racist perceptions, that the West had for the East?" "Labels divide people. We need fewer labels, not more!" And then there’s the other viewpoint, that 'Yellow' isn’t offensive: "Why is calling someone white or black not racist, but then when you call them yellow, all of a sudden..." "Yellow just describes ones' appearance, like calling someone skinny, short, tall, dark-haired…" "...but Asians actually have a yellow hue to them!" "Cmon, Asians even call themselves yellow!" Actually that last one is interesting. Do Asians themselves find Yellow offensive? Well understandably there are South East Asians, Indians, Afghans, Iraqis who find it offensive because they are far from yellow. But I think, in saying yellow, most people are referring to East Asians anyway. So do EAST Asians find Yellow offensive? Recently Apple angered many Asian people by their creation of yellow-shaded emojis, part of their attempt at racial emoji diversity - and many Asians took to Twitter to voice their concerns. But, hey wait, I’ve heard Asians refer to themselves as Yellow too. "Yellow Power!" "Everyone’s got yellow fever!" "Check out the yellow bullet! (Liu Xiang, Gold Medalist) "...one of China’s legendary cultural heroes, The Yellow Emperor." Okay, so the jury is still out on just how offensive it is; but who do we blame for all of this? Some think it’s to do with the fact that Asian civilisation first developed around the Yellow River in China. But after doing some research, I found this guy, Johann Friedrich Blumenbach (1752-1840) - a German naturalist, physiologist and anthropologist who was the first to explore the study of mankind as an aspect of natural history. He came up with the five color typology for humans - the white race (Caucasians), the black race (sub-Saharan Africans), the brown race (Pacific Islanders), the red race (American Indians) and of course, the yellow race (East Asians). And ever since then, the idea of Asians as yellow has been ingrained in our heads. Look no further than the Power Rangers. Specifically, the yellow power ranger. Going back to the original question - Why are Asians yellow? (or yellowish) The answer, is genetic. But more specifically, Asians have more carotene pigments in their skin, and carotene imparts a yellowish coloration. Also Asians have a low body mass index (BMI) but higher body fat percentage; and much of this fat lies just under their skin. Fat tends to be yellowish in nature, so Asian skin often looks yellowish. In comparison, Caucasians have less carotene and a much thinner layer of fat under their skin; so they’re less yellowy and more white. At the end of the day, personally, I don’t really take much offence to being referred to as yellow. But then again, I do make videos on youtube about sensitive racial matters, so I do have to have thick skin (under which there is a layer of yellow fat). Whatever color we are, it doesn’t really matter. We’re all the same. We are all interchangeable. Especially when it comes to The Simpsons, the show where white people are yellow, and yellow people are white. ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! This was a Level 7 nuclear event, comparable only to Chernobyl. 1. Unheeded Warning Before the disaster even happened, there were industry experts who warned of mega tsunami-generating earthquakes hitting the area every 800 to 1100 years, with the next one being overdue. But those in charge dismissed such warnings. 2. No Good Robots During the crisis at Fukushima, high radiation levels at the plant made it desperately hard for human workers to do what they needed to do. Back in 2001, the Japanese had actually developed extremely capable robots that were deemed technical successes, but then a government task force concluded that a Chernobyl-scale disaster was never going to happen in Japan . The program was shut down and the robots were dismantled or donated. 3. Onagawa Nuclear Power Plant The Onagawa Nuclear Power Plant was the closest power plant to the earthquake epicentre, yet it successfully withstood the barrage. While the Fukushima Plant had sea walls up to 5.7 meters, Onagawa had it up to 14 meters. 4. Wrongful Evacuation Due to miscommunication between the evacuation authorities and the experts who were analysing the fallout, many residents were evacuated from pretty safe areas right INTO the radioactive plume. 5. Evacuation Deaths More people were killed by the evacuation process in Fukushima than by the actual earthquake and tsunami, the disaster itself. People died of fatigue, exhaustion, illness, suicides - losing their homes, not knowing where they would end up, cramped evacuation centres; the whole ordeal was taxing. 6. Geiger-Counter Hobby After the Fukushima disaster, random radiation hot spots were discovered in unexpected locations. Radiation levels as high as those in the no-go zone were detected as far as some Tokyo suburbs. This prompted many Japanese residents to take up a new hobby - walking with Geiger-counters through their city or village in search for random radiation levels to report. 7. Animal Guardian 55 year old Naoto Matsumura is the only man brave enough to live in Fukushima’s no-go zone. After the initial evacuation, he returned back to take care of the animals that were left behind. Not just his animals, but everyone’s. 8. Mutations There were a few small scale Fukushima discoveries. 9. Human Radiation Effects No one died from radiation exposure in Fukushima. And contrary to a well-publicised, yet poorly-executed, study that made the rounds in 2015, thyroid cancer rates in Fukushima children were actually lower than the national average. 10. Disobedient Hero Masao Yoshida was the manager of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant and on March 15th 2011, he lead a brave group, now dubbed ‘The Fukushima 50’ into the radioactive trenches. With cooling systems crippled and having run out of fresh water, Yoshida decided they would pump seawater straight from the ocean into the damaged reactors. Then corporate headquarters (TEPCO) ordered him to stop the seawater injection. They didn’t want the corrosive seawater to permanently damage their reactors. Feeling his superiors were inept for risking a colossal radioactive fallout, Yoshida disobeyed the direct order and continued with the seawater injection. Many experts now agree that his actions on that day arguably prevented a much greater catastrophe. ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! It's UN-SPILLABLE!* HAS MCDONALD'S CONQUERED ASIA? If McDonald's were a country, it's revenue would make it the 105th largest economy in the world, surpassing the GDP of Estonia, Cambodia & Afghanistan. The number of McDonald's employees worldwide would be more than the entire population of Iceland, Barbados and Samoa. It's a big company, but it wasn't always that way. McDonald's was founded on May 15th, 1940 in San Bernardino, California - that's over 77 years ago - and has since expanded to a 120 countries and territories around the world, serving 68 million customers each day. It took 27 years for the first McDonald's to appear outside of the US, and 31 years to make it's way to a second continent. THIS continent was Asia, and in this video I'm going to take you through the next 46 years of McDonald's' Asian ascension. So, which Asian country was the FIRST to open a McDonald's? What did McDonalds have to sacrifice in order compete with local markets? And how much of Asia is there still left to conquer, as of today? We'll get into all of that, so grab a double cheeseburger (maybe some fries), and we'll explore every Asian country to have ever had a McDonald's. Welcome to McAsia. Some notable McDonald's branches in Asian countries are: - McDonald's Japan for being the first Asian McDonald's ever. - McDonald's Singapore for having the oldest McDonald's employee worldwide at 93 years old. - McDonald's Malaysia for being the first McDonald's in a Muslim-majority country. - McDonald's Turkey for being the first McDonald's in West Asia (Middle East). - McDonald's South Korea to be the first to sell alcohol (beer). - McDonald's Russia for having the largest McDonald's outlet in Asia in Pushkin Square, Moscow. - McDonald's Israel for having the healthiest McDonald's in the world. - McDonald's Saudi Arabia for oddly taking out a full page ad in a Saudi national newspaper swearing loyalty to the new crown prince. - McDonald's India for being the first McDonald's in South Asia, as well as having the first vegetarian McDonald's in the world. - McDonald's Pakistan for having served the Taliban at one point in time. - McDonald's Georgia for having the chain's most exquisite outlet. - McDonald's Iraq for only having ONE McDonald's outlet for the US Army stationed in Baghdad. - McDonald's Kazakhstan for being the first McDonald's in Central Asia. Just like how there are Asian people who have larger, non-squinty eyes; there also exist white people or black people who do have these squinty, Asiatic eyes. But just how common is it among non-Asian people, and why do they even have it? Yet historically, superheroes of Asian descent have been a rare thing in the Marvel & DC universes. With movies like Captain America Civil War, Batman vs Superman and Deadpool already having broken several box office records this year, superhero movies are only getting more popular. And you know, you have the first female solo superhero film in quite some time coming out in 2017 with DC’s Wonder Woman, and the first black solo superhero film in some time coming out in 2018 with Marvel’s Black Panther. Makes me wonder when we’ll see the first Asian solo superhero film on the big screen. But we’re a long ways off because first, we actually need a successful and popular Asian superhero in the comics, and thus far, it’s not clear if we even have one. Well you be the judge. 1. Jubilee (Marvel) - arguably the most well-known Asian superhero - a Chinese-American girl born in LA - X-Men’s youngest member in the early 1990s 2. Shang Chi (Marvel) - created in the 1970s, a period in time where people were crazy for Bruce Lee and anything Kung Fu related - the premiere Asian character of the 70s - born in China - son & nemesis of the infamous, wealthy international Chinese crime lord Fu Manchu. - has no superpowers, but is an expert in all forms of martial arts - unfortunately as stereotypically Asian as you can get 3. Sunfire (Marvel) - Japan’s premiere superhero - just like Shang Chi, an Asian character of overt Asian symbolisms. - real name, Shiro Yoshida - born to a mother who suffered radiation poisoning (Hiroshima atomic bomb) - became a mutant possessing solar radiation powers 4. Atom (DC) - real name, Ryan Choi - super smart & gets good grades - can be quite the ladies’ man - from Hong Kong - protege of original Atom, Ray Palmer - the Atom is a super hero who can shrink to a subatomic size (like Ant-Man) - pretty noteworthy because first time an Asian guy took over the mantle of an existing superhero with an already established fan base - too bad he only appeared in 78 issues before being killed off by the assassin, Deathstroke - his death became the subject of racial controversy as he had been one of the few high profile Asian characters in the DC Universe 5. Batgirl (DC) - real name, Cassandra Cain - she’s a halfie, with a white dad and a Chinese mom - adopted by Bruce Wayne, aka Batman. - under Batman’s watch, she became Batgirl - some refer to her as the Asian Batgirl 6. Psylocke (Marvel) - real name is Elizabeth “Betsy” Braddock, originally a blonde haired girl from Essex, Great Britain - a mutant with vast telepathic and telekinetic powers and a long time X-Man. - had her soul transferred into the body of a Japanese female ninja - in X-Men: Apocalypse movie she is played by Olivia Munn (Is this another example of whitewashing in Hollywood?) 7. Ms. Marvel (Marvel) - real name, Kamala Khan, the second Ms. Marvel who made her debut in 2013 - a Pakistani Muslim teenage girl living in New Jersey from a very traditional Pakistani family. - is an inhuman (a race of superhumans) - her power makes her able to stretch her body in unimaginable ways 8. Silk (Marvel) - real name Cindy Moon, a Korean American girl. - Spiderman was bitten by a radioactive spider but what we didn’t know was, so did another student 9. Hulk (Marvel) - in 2015 we were introduced to a Korean Hulk. - real name, Amadeus Cho, a Korean American - this new Hulk fights gamma monsters while traveling cross country with his sister Maddy 10. Superman - DC one upped Marvel by making one of, if not, the most iconic superhero of all time Asian. - Superman is now Chinese! - a 17 year old kid from Shanghai named Kenan Kong - you can imagine the outrage this has caused as ‘superman is supposed to be white’ and American -------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! It is a national holiday in Japan (天皇誕生日). 1) WORLD'S OLDEST MONARCHY The Japanese monarchy, The Imperial House of Japan, is the oldest, continuous hereditary monarchy in the world. Compared to other monarchies, you have the British Monarchy starting at 1066 and the the Danish Monarchy at 935. For the Japanese Monarchy, we’re going back to 660BC, which started with the legendary Japanese Emperor Jimmu. 2) DESCENDENT OF GODS Shinto is the largest religion in Japan, and the line of Japanese Emperors are said to be the direct descendants of several Shinto gods, the most notable being the Sun goddess, Amaterasu. The Emperor is the ceremonial head of state in Japan, but it makes sense that with his divine ancestry, he is also officially the head of the Shinto religion itself. 3) TERRITORY-INDEPENDENT PHENOMENON As odd as it may seem, the title of Emperor (or Tennō) has never really been about territorial designations. Contrast this with European monarchs who often wanted to conquer and control additional territory. In fact, the position of Emperor is a territory-independent phenomenon. In other words, the Emperor is the Emperor regardless if he has followers in the whole of Japan or in only one province. 4) EMPEROR'S CAPACITY From 1192 to 1867, the shoguns held the real power (Shoguns being the military commanders of the time). The Emperor still officially nominated the Shoguns to their positions, but this was largely ceremonial. Today, the Japanese Constitution vests executive power in the Prime Minister and his Cabinet. 5) POLYGAMY The Japanese imperial dynasty consistently practiced official polygamy. Besides his empress, the Emperor could take several secondary consorts or concubines; which helped produce more offspring for the imperial clan 6) FIRST COMMONER WIFE In the history of the Japanese Imperial Family, there was never an Emperor who had a commoner as wife or even concubine. That is, until now. The current Emperor of Japan married Empress Michiko, a commoner! She was not from the former court nobility nor from one of the former branches of the Imperial Family. Michiko was the daughter of an industrialist 7) FISH SCIENCE (Ichthyology = Fish Science) The Emperor is a published ichthyological researcher, having written papers for several scholarly journals, and has specialised studies within the taxonomy of the family Gobiidae. Random 8) STOP GAP EMPRESSES Generally, it has been males who have ascended Japan’s Chrysanthemum Throne. However, if a suitable male was not available, there have been times where women have ascended the throne; almost as a stop gap measure. Of the 125 monarchs, there have been 8 women who have reigned on 10 different occasions. 2 of them reigned twice. Once a suitable male descendant was considered old enough to rule, many Empresses, and even Emperors, abdicated or relinquished the throne 9) CHILD EMPERORS Over a thousand years ago, a tradition started that an Emperor should ascend young. If he had passed his toddler years, he was said to be old enough. Being a child was apparently a fine property 10) ABDICATING TREND Abdication was very common. Actually it was more frequent than death on the throne. The Emperors tasks involved so many repetitive rituals that after about ten years of service, it was deemed a reasonable compensation to live the rest of their lives in pampered retirement! ---------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! Some people call it the most complicated soft drink in the world, but it’s really quite simple. The drink is pressure sealed with a marble from the inside, and you have this 'pushy device' that you push inside the neck to dislodge the marble. 1) RAMUNE WAS INVENTED BY A SCOT In 1884 during the Meiji period, this Scottish dude, Alexander Cameron Sim, had his own Pharmaceutical company in Kobe. Apparently it was a trend amongst pharmacists to invent their own drink concoctions. Some were hits, some were misses. Sim's drink - named Mabu soda at the time, mabu meaning marble - was a massive hit. Eventually the name was changed to Ramune and the drink was sold nationwide. Ramune is an epic Japanese drink, so it’s no surprise Sim has his very own monument in Kobe. 2) RAMUNE WAS JAPAN'S FIRST EVER SOFT DRINK We’re talking about the first mainstream commercialised soft drink in Japan. It wasn’t Coke. It wasn’t Ginger Ale. It was Ramune. 3) RAMUNE IS HEALTHIER THAN COKE One reason Ramune has been growing in popularity is cause of the lower calorie and carbohydrate count. Although these levels can differ depending on the Ramune flavour. People trying to lose weight sometimes drink Ramune as a substitute for Coke or for any other regular soft drink. 4) PEOPLE INITIALLY THOUGHT RAMUNE DRINKS WERE BOMBS Back in the 1850s, Matthew C. Perry, a Commodore of the United States Navy (who played a leading role in the opening of Japan to the West), brought carbonated sodas over to Japan. Perry and co. presented these special beverages as gifts. A Johnny Knoxville type crew member thought it would be a funny idea to shake up some of the fizzy sodas before offering them to the Japanese. After it exploded in their faces, many thought they were bombs! It almost started a war. Later on, when commercial Ramune was released to the public, many people were suspicious of this foreign mystery drink that may or may not explode in your face like a bomb. Not to mention carbonation was unheard of. 5) RAMUNE USED TO BE UNPOPULAR It wasn’t called Ramune at the beginning. It was called ‘Remon Sui’ which directly translates to lemon water. Eventually the name was changed to Remoneedo, which is the straight Japanese pronunciation of the word ‘lemonade’. And later on shortened to just Ramune. The drink then became a massive hit. 6) RAMUNE WAS ORIGINALLY MARKETED AS A PREVENTION FOR CHOLERA This is bullcrap, but along with the Ramune name change, this bit of false marketing helped its popularity. 7) THERE ARE OVER 36 FLAVOURS OF RAMUNE Ramune is super popular, but after the influx of newer soft drinks into the marketplace, like Coke, Fanta, Sprite, etc; the Ramune higher ups felt they needed to spice things up. There are fruit flavours like banana, blueberry, grape, orange, green apple, kiwi, peach, pineapple, plum, cherry, coconut, mango, melon, pomelo, watermelon, raspberry, strawberry and lychee. Then there’s vanilla, chocolate, candy, root beer and coke flavours. More WTF ones include champagne, bubble gum, green tea, chill oil, brussels sprout, corn cream stew (soup), teriyaki, curry, octopus, takoyaki, kimchi, squid ink and wasabi. 8) RAMUNE WITHOUT THE MARBLE ISN'T RAMUNE Apparently Ramune is only Ramune if it comes in that uniquely shaped bottle (called a codd-neck bottle) with the marble in it. 9) YOU CAN MAKE RAMUNE AT HOME *watch vid for instructions* 10) RAMUNE USED TO BE THE WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS SOFT DRINK Kids wanted the marble, and were willing to break the glass bottle to get it. Nowadays bottles are unbreakable and kiddy-proof so are no longer dangerous. ----- **We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/kentobento2015 ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kentobento2015

It’s 2015; AMWF couples are more common than you think, and Asian guys are rocking it (well not all but enough are). Let’s stop treating AMWF as if it’s the poor misunderstood redheaded stepchild of the relationship world. There are enough AMWF couples around now that you can even start classifying them. 5 FAMOUS Asian Adoptees from Hollywood & Media

5 FAMOUS ASIAN ADOPTEES FROM HOLLYWOOD & MEDIA ★ 10 MOST INFLUENTIAL Asian Superheroes From Marvel & DC: https://youtu.be/sAB8-1Gkn_E ★ 30 RACIST Asian Slurs That May Piss You Off: https://youtu.be/6tHs9wrqiPY ★ Asian Stereotypes Checklist: https://youtu.be/hrJbxLu9MiE Available Subtitles: ENGLISH ► If you want to help subtitle this video into your native language, please let us know so we can give you credit~ http://www.youtube.com/timedtext_video?ref=share&v=tKlcFKtvFRA With National Adoption Month in the US coming up in November, and the recent drama involving the most high profile entry on this list, it seems an appropriate time to make this video. 1. Angelina Jolie Angelina Jolie is who everyone thinks of when it comes to a Hollywood celebrity with an adopted Asian child. Actually she has two, Maddox from Cambodia and Pax from Vietnam. In 2001, Jolie applied to adopt 7 month old, Rath Vibol from an orphanage in Battambang, Cambodia. Unfortunately, this didn’t seem to go well. The adoption process was halted soon after when the US government banned adoptions from Cambodia amid allegations of child trafficking. When it was all said and done, when the investigation was over, fortunately for Jolie, the adoption of Rath Vibol was deemed lawful. Jolie brought him back to the States and renamed him Maddox. 5 years later, Maddox became older brother to Pax, who Jolie adopted from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Today, Maddox is a regular 15 year old kid, who can sometimes be seen with a shaggy bleached blonde mohawk, and who has a long distance girlfriend who lives in England. Unfortunately, 2016 marked the end of Brangelina, as Angelina Jolie & husband Brad Pitt are now going through a Hollywood divorce involving 6 kids. 2. Katherine Heigl Heigl actually grew up with an older sister, Meg, who was adopted from South Korea. Heigl says: “I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea.” Her husband singer/songwriter, Josh Kelley initially questioned whether Heigl’s vision for their family was indeed right for him. In 2009, she got the call from the Korean adoption agency that there was a baby girl for her to adopt named Mi-Eun. There was one issue though, she had a congenital heart defect and had recently undergone open heart surgery. Despite the uncertainty surrounding her well-being, her future health, Heigl opted to adopt Mi-Eun, naming her Naleigh. 3. Ewan McGregor McGregor has been in many documentaries including one called Long Way Round where he goes on a 19000 mile journey from London To New York City on a motorcycle, traveling through Europe and Asia, visiting several UNICEF programs along the way. It was on this trip in 2004, passing through Mongolia, where he met 2 year old Jamyan, an abandoned orphan. Soon afterwards, he adopted her. 4. Meg Ryan The star of When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless In Seattle & You’ve Got Mail, was elated, when, in 2006, she was notified by the Chinese adoption agency that they had assigned her a 14 month old baby girl. I say assigned because the adoption process in China is like a lottery system, and Ryan had no say in the selection process of her child, who she later named Daisy True Despite Daisy being randomly assigned to her, Ryan has stated “I am convinced, completely that there was nothing random about it. She is the daughter I should have.” 5. John McCain Right now the world is watching Hillary & Trump tear each other to bits. 8 years ago it was Obama & McCain going at it for the presidency. While McCain, was able to become the republican presidential nominee in 2008, his previous attempt in 2000 failed. He had lost to George W. Bush in large part due to an underground smear campaign that falsely claimed McCain had fathered a black child. In actuality, that ‘black child’ was Bridget, his daughter that he adopted from Bangladesh. Bridget was Bengali, and Bengali people are darker skinned. Many people said the McCains should be ashamed of her color. The vile campaign had voters being called up by the thousands, being informed that McCain had a black baby and that was reason enough to not vote for him. Funnily enough, John McCain did not know of his wife’s decision before hand and when he arrived at the Arizona airport to pick her up from her trip from Bangladesh, he was confused as to why his wife was holding a dark Asian baby. He asked ‘who is she?’ and ‘where is she going?’ Cindy replied ‘To our house’ Despite the initial shock, he has said that Bridget has since enriched their lives. Thanks for watching! We decided to switch it up this time and make a video on Japanese dishes that a lot of people may think is traditional but is actually of foreign origins. Most of these dishes came from the Meiji Peroid, shortly after Japan's national seclusion from the rest of the world. 1. Tempura - tempura batter lighter, airier, crispier than other batters - Portuguese merchants & missionaries before 17th century introduced the prototype for this cooking method - Tempura came from the word latin word Tempora - Over time, batter adjusted to maximise the Japanese seafood freshness. It got lighter and less fritter like. - Some think the Indian pakora was picked up by the Portuguese and then to the Japanese which evolved into tempura. 2. Japanese Curry Rice - Iconically Japanese, family dish mum would make often - Less spicy, more sweet & more thick than other curries - Meiji Period - Introduced by British sailors and merchants, and they got it from India - Adjusted to Japanese palettes over time - Curry thickness comes from the French roux - Essentially Japanese curry is an Indian dish introduced by the British Empire and adapted using French techniques! 3. Tonkatsu - Breaded deep fried pork cutlet using Japanese panko breadcrumbs - Sauce is like a thickened Worcestershire sauce - Meiji Period - Rengatei, a Tokyo restaurant in 1899, though to have created Tonkatsu - Influences from Austria's Wiener or Viennese Schnitzel and Italy's Cotoletta alla milanese (Milan) 4. Hayashi Rice - Similar to Japanese curry - Beef, onions, button mushrooms & demi-glace sauce - Meiji Period - Origins from western beef stews eg. Beef Stroganoff, Beef Bourguignon 5. Ramen - From China - Chinese traders in late 19th century introduced Lamien - Lamien became Ramen Our 10 Things You Didn't Know About RAMEN video: https://youtu.be/x7N-zD0n4Hc 6. Hambagu Steak - Japanese mince patty - Demi-glace sauce - Meiji Period - German roots: Hambagu Steak similar to Hamburg Steak - Also similar to American Salisbury Steak 7. Omurice - Japanese omelet with Japanese fried rice and ketchup / tomato sauce on top - Similar roots to Tonkatsu, in fact exact same restaurant Rengatei - Inspired from French omelet - Also inspired by the Japanese Chakin-Zushi - The creator combined these 2 ideas Which of these popular Japanese dishes did you already know the foreign history of? ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! (ANIME VS REALITY) Nosebleeds from sexual arousal... We’ve all seen those anime scenes where a guy catches a glimpse of a girl undressing, maybe she’s in a revealing outfit, or acting seductive to the guy. She could be flat out naked. And then suddenly blood shoots out of his nose! A very iconic scene in Japanese anime and manga. Frequently used as a metaphor for sexual arousal. The nosebleeds can range from just a trickle, to full on fountain gushing. And in some cases, it even serves as a plot device, such as in Dragon Ball with Master Roshi. Some say, it’s meant to be a powerful way to show the immediate change a person goes though when sexual arousal is induced. Others say it’s really more about the nervousness. Then there’s the most obvious, an imagery for blood flow to the guy’s nether regions. And taking that one step further, the explosive, projectile nature of the nosebleed is said to be like an ejaculation! There’s also the idea that the reason for the nosebleed metaphor is because you can’t show a boner in anime. So they had to get creative. Also one doesn’t even need to be capable of a boner to have pervy nosebleeds as some female anime characters also demonstrate this bloody trait. Ok so, is this real? Does this happen to people in real life? Shocking as it may be, it doesn’t seem to be backed by medical science. This probably only happens in the anime and manga world, although there are a few real life examples of this happening, but surely it’s just coincidence? Otherwise all late middle schools and high schools would be like a scene from Saw! But how did pervy nose bleeds become a thing in Japan? It’s actually existed for a while now. Manga artist Yasuji Tanioka is believed to be the first person to have introduced this nosebleed motif with his early 1970’s manga (Yasuji no Mettameta Gaki Dou Kouza). Subsequently, other Japanese artists liked the expression and began replicating it in their own works. And, we pretty much know where it went from there. A bit of anime history to end things there. ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! If you were offended by that, this video is probably not what you think. Everyone has their own opinions of what constitutes as attractive. But I’m not necessarily talking about ‘attractiveness’ here; I’m talking about ‘cuteness’. Cuteness is a term describing a type of attractiveness commonly associated with youth and appearance. It’s also a scientific concept. So when I say ‘Asians are cuter’, well, they arguably are; and that’s including males, not just females. Now, compared to adults, common features for infants across all ethnic groups include larger heads, flatter faces, reduction of the brow ridge, hairlessness, thinner bones, reduced muscle mass, smaller physical size, shorter arms, shorter legs, just to name a few - and of course this is largely why people find babies cute. If they didn’t have these features and proportions, they’d more so resemble miniature adults and that’s kind of creepy. The video covers: - Neoteny in East Asians - How retention of neotenous, childlike traits relate to ethnicity - Neoteny in humans in general - Sexual attraction to neotenous traits - Asian fever vs Cuteness fever - Neotenous features vs Non-neotenous features - Gene Mutations that gave East Asians their distinctive appearance - Neoteny's role in sexual selection - Are small and slanted stereotypical 'Asian Eyes' neotenous? - Japan's kawaii culture (South Korea & China as well) - Psychological neoteny - Logan Paul's immature antics - & more! - Special thanks to our sponsor, East Meet East.

Firstly, what is natto? Natto is a cheap, traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans. In the video I explain the following 10 facts about natto with random references to the Iron Chef TV show, samurais, NigaHiga & sake! 1. NATTO DOESN’T HAVE TO BE EATEN THE TRADITIONAL WAY 2. NATTO SHOULD BE STIRRED NO MORE THAN 15 TIMES 3. NATTO WAS PROBABLY CREATED BY ACCIDENT 4. NATTO WAS ORIGINALLY MARKETED AS A RIVAL TO CHEESE IN JAPAN 5. ODORLESS NATTO EXISTS 6. MANY JAPANESE PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE NATTO 7. NATTO HELPS PREVENT ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE 8. NATTO IS A GOOD MEAL FOR PEOPLE TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT 9. YOU CAN MAKE NATTO AT HOME 10. THE ORIGINAL ‘NATTO CHALLENGE’ WAS STARTED BY JAPANESE BUSINESSMEN At the end of the video, I give my personal thoughts on natto, as well as trying it in front of all of you! (which is risky because one tends to get slimy grossness all over them...not pretty). ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! We all know the numerous Asian stereotypes out there. I compiled a list of the main stereotypes and compared them with my Asian boyfriend, Kento, just to see how Asian he really is (unofficially and unscientifically). [Note: This isn't meant to offend anyone, it's more a lighthearted take on Asian stereotypes] For those wondering, he is half Japanese and half Chinese. The Asian stereotypes we looked at were: - Asians know martial arts - Asians are good at technology - Asians are good at math - Asians know how to play musical instruments (probably the piano) - Asians are not athletic - Asians are into cars - Asians are rich - Asians look young for their age - Asians are super family-oriented - Asians cant grow facial hair - Asians are short - Asians have skinny legs - Asians have small butts - Asians have small slanty eyes - Asians have no B.O. (body odour) - Asians have no body hair - Asians have small...... I’m sure I missed a few stereotypes. If I did, let me know in the comments below! How Asian are YOU?? Thanks for watching! (PART 2: EUROPE) Asia is the largest and most populous continent in the world. From the physical extremes to the cultural, it's a continent that has shown tremendous diversity from one end to the other. But what exactly counts as Asia? Where are the Asian borders? This video is part two of a three part series. In part one, we covered the specific Asian borders following the coastal regions from the Tumen River between North Korea & Russia to the Suez Canal in Egypt. In between, we went over Japan's Bonin (Ogasawara) Islands, the Malay Archipelago, Indonesia's border with Papua New Guinea, the Wallace Line, the Weber Line, Asian continental shelf, the Middle East, Yemen's Socotra Archipelago, Afro-Eurasia and Egypt's border. In part two, we cover the most controversial Asian border section of Europe starting from Egypt, through Lebanon, Syria, Cyprus, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia. We end on the eastern side of Russia (Siberia) bordering North America, which is where part three will commence. Many feel Asian and Europe shouldn't have been separate continents to start with, as there isn't a clear physical geographical divide between the two. In fact, a few countries teach the continent of Eurasia as a result. This made this video particularly challenging as nothing is definitive and is all open to interpretation. You know, the ones that supposedly test your beauty or fitness levels with obscure and very unscientifically proven methods. In a previous video, we talked about 5 recent beauty trends popularised on Chinese social media: https://youtu.be/a6o905aJt2k These were: - iPhone Legs Challenge - A4 Waist Challenge - Underboob Pen Challenge - Collarbone Coin Challenge - Hairy Armpit Selfie And now in this video, we go over 5 more! 1. Behind-The-Back Belly Button Challenge Try to touch your belly button with your hand by going behind your back first. If you succeed, you are skinny and beautiful. 2. Behind-The-Back Boob Challenge Similar to the previous challenge, but you have to grab your boob. 3. Finger Trap Test Place your finger vertically resting against your nose and chin. If your lips do not touch your finger, you have a perfect facial profile. 4. Reverse Prayer Pose Step one is to do the reverse prayer pose (prayer pose done behind your back). Next you have to raise it as high as possible. The highest you can achieve is 'goddess level'. 5. Nipple Distance Test This came from a Chinese beauty contest. One of the criteria was that nipples had to be at least 20 cm apart. This demonstrates the perfect set of breasts. On a side note, this contest also had a predetermined radial beauty standard for nipple areola... Which ones do YOU pass? ----------------------- ABOUT We do videos on interesting 'Asiany' topics - Asian stereotypes, Asian pop culture, Asian issues, Asian history, AMWF, and things you just didn't know about Asia! In 1917, a Japanese Army general by the name of Kuniaki Koiso, wanted to connect Japan to the rest of Asia. He suggested the idea of building a grand tunnel from Japan all the way to Korea. Certainly a tremendous feat of engineering; and not just for that point in time. Over the next hundred years, through the various incarnations, and despite the numerous proposals, the project never moved beyond conception; today, as we know, there’s still yet to be a tunnel or bridge connecting the two countries. But the question is, for how long? Compared to air travel, having an accessible route by land is going to save people a lot of money, especially when sending goods; which is why most companies tend to use sea routes (though that’s still significantly more expensive than sending by land). The proposed tunnel would also serve a portion of the 20,000 people who travel daily between Korea and Japan. Ultimately, there would be an increase in economic activity for both countries, contributing to the economic development of the whole of East Asia Also: - Korea Strait - Channel Tunnel or Chunnel (longest undersea portion of any tunnel) - Seikan Tunnel (longest undersea tunnel overall) - 3 proposed routes for the Japan-Korea tunnel - Karatsu to Iki Island to Tsushima Island, then terminating at either Geoje Island or Yeongdu, Busan. - Port of Busan - Traveling from Tokyo to Seoul by land - Immense cost of JKUT - Viability of project - Historic psychological barrier - Japan & Korea war - Japanese invasion of Korea - Korean mistrust - Political & economic influence - UK & France history & similarities - European Union & East Asian Community - Island mentality - China's increasing influence - Tokyo, Seoul & Beijing route - North Korea's relevance - Trans-global highway - Human transportation, engineering & architecture

Asian beards and Asian stereotypes ... Did you know Asian guys can’t grow facial hair... Okay, obviously that’s not true, but for a lot of Asian guys, especially East Asian guys, it can very well be true. The bearded Asian man is a somewhat rare species, at least in most mainstream circles; often due to an inability to grow them properly. And when attempts are made, it usually results in sparse, wispy, uneven, porcupine stubble, covering only about one eighth of the intended facial region. They may also get those random off-the-beaten-track loner hairs that exist on otherwise barren parts of the face, like lost sheep! For me personally, if I could only grow porcupine stubble, I would just go clean shaven. Taking way too many months only to grow an upside-down male pattern baldness would not be worth my time. So you may look at me and think my dad must be all like Fu Manchu or Pai Mei, but the truth is, he too is one of the many Asian men who has a chin like a balding rat. I definitely got my beard-growing abilities from my Mom’s side. I didn’t always look like a North Korean lumberjack. (Kim Jong-Un, please don’t Sony hack me). This is something I only started doing the last year or so. I don’t even think I had the ability to grow a beard quite like this before the age of 24. So to all those younger Asian guys, there may come a time where you suddenly find yourself with the ability to produce some decent facial foliage . What are YOUR thoughts on Asian facial hair? There is one weird thing about my beard though. On my left side, it spirals into a centre. It’s like a wormhole on my face! Thanks for watching! Genetics is an obvious factor so I'm gonna leave that one off the list. 1. Fish & Seafood Asians eat a lot of seafood. The biggest benefit to eating fish is the omega-3 fatty acids. Fish gives our brain and body the DHA & EPA it needs. EPA in particular has been shown to prevent obesity. 1.5 to 2 grams daily of fish oil can produce weight loss of a couple pounds over a period of a month. 2. Cooking Methods If you compare Western and Asian eating habits, sure they both consume deep fried foods, but Asian countries vary their cooking methods a lot more. 3. Food Perception How people see and experience food can be different depending on where you are. In America, for example, food is seen more as entertainment. There is desire, joy and anticipation associated with eating. Not that it isn't in Asian countries, but it's a lot more toned down. Eating has more of a practical feel, in many cases closer to being a chore rather than entertainment. 4. Portion Size Asians eat smaller portions. Food is often served in small serving bowls and small plates and this helps regulate how much is consumed in one sitting. Now if we take a look at America? SUPERSIZE! 5. Leafy Greens Asian portion size in general might be smaller, but their vegetable portion size is consistently larger. In many Asian countries, people don't even need to be reminded to eat their veg. It's just ingrained. 6. Drink Habits It is a common belief that drinking water, especially cold water, with your meal is a habit that one should avoid, as it dilutes your digestive enzymes and makes it harder for your stomach to digest food. Americans often drink cold water or sodas with their meals, not so much for Asian people however. Rather they drink hot teas before or after a meal. I should note that many experts say this is greatly exaggerated and that it's generally ok to drink water with your meals. 7. Population Density Many Asian countries & cities are densely populated. There are lots of people living in small apartments and almost everything you need is just round the corner. Leading one to possibly conclude that many Asian people must exert less energy in their daily lives. In actuality, Asian people in this circumstance may end up walking more. With everything being in close proximity, they are more inclined to just walk to their destination, whereas in many Western countries, distances are often too great. 8. Fermented Foods Asians consume more fermented foods such as miso, natto, tempeh, kimchi, kombucha, etc, and this is not just good for your gut health, but helps reduce the overall inflammation in the body. And inflammation is a contributing factor to weight gain and obesity. 9. Snacks & Desserts This one's quite simple. Asian snacks, healthy, Western snacks, not so much. Asian snacks and desserts may be rice cakes, red beans, seaweed snacks, nuts, seeds, and lots of fruit. For Western snacks and desserts, you have cookies, chips, ice cream, sugary cakes. 10. Prevention vs Treatment Asians practice prevention, while others practice treatment. With the Western approach, you have your antibiotics, antacids, NSAIDs, quick, temporary, remedies that might actually hurt you in the long run. The Asian approach attempts to get to the root of the problem using nutrition, healthy habits, prevention practices. It's a societal mindset. Health is not simply the absence of sickness. In most countries, Condom Day is during Valentine's Day. In Japan, Condom Day is on May 6th. Many people take 'condom selfies' and post them on social media. In this video, we cover 7 wacky things you may not know about Japanese condoms! 1. Weird Condoms Here are some weird condoms from Japan: - Kit Sack - Koala's March - Rilakkuma - Pikachu - Hello Kitty - Street Fighter - Super Big Boy - Mega Big Boy - Power Black 2. Condom Technology Japan is at the forefront of condom technology. One way in which they are showing their condom dominance is by how thin they can make their condoms. In America, the thinnest condoms are 0.06mm, but in Japan it's 0.038mm. Japan's Okamato company has frequently held the world record for condom thinness. 3. Condom Wars China has been constantly knocking at Japan's door, challenging them for the world record in condom thinness. China's Daming company actually sued Okamoto for their claim of having the world's thinnest condom when they felt they did. They won the lawsuit after it was determined their condom was 0.036mm, 0.002mm less than Okamoto's. 4. Condom Ice Cream You don't actually eat the condom here. It's basically ice cream in a condom, a neat way to eat ice cream on a hot summer's day. In Japan it's called Tamago Aisu (Ice Cream Egg) or Oppai Aisu (Breast Ice Cream...not much better than 'condom ice cream'). We watch a bit of Sharla's ice cream condom video (Sharla in Japan / Sharmander): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2A002Em8Yw 5. Tortoise Shell & Animal Horn This is what the Japanese used for condoms in the 15th century! Ouch for the animal horn... Apparently, “tortoise shell and animal horn had the added advantage where the women could attach them to a stick and use them as dildos during their husband’s absence.” 6. Wacky Condom Commercials Japan has wacky condom commercials...duh. Just an excuse for us to watch one of them! Dinosaur Fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ0px0v9SII 7. Condom Cookbook A condom cookbook was released in Japan titled ‘Condom Meals I Want To Make For You’, with recipes such as 'Condom Push Sushi' and 'Condom Meat Stuffing'.... The condom is just used as a cooking device, not to be eaten. There is also condom cookies and condom escargot...yum! Slimy Snail Sac Snack! Slimy Snail Sac Snack! Slimy Snail Sac Snack! World's Cheapest Michelin Star Restaurant in HONG KONG

WORLD'S CHEAPEST MICHELIN STAR RESTAURANT IN HONG KONG | VLOG My first vlog style video! So I realised I hadn't done a Hong Kong-related video before, and thought it would be a waste if I didn't take the opportunity while I am still in Hong Kong. For those wondering where Nina (my girlfriend) is, she isn't in Hong Kong at the moment, but I will meet up with her soon. Vlogging with her in the future will be a lot of fun! In the video, I show a nice whirlwind view from my rooftop of my Hong Kong suburb. I live on the 30th floor of a building so the view is nice. Afterwards, I head to the subway to the World's cheapest Michelin-Starred restaurant, Tim Ho Wan! But first, I meet my Mom at the dentist - just a brief oral check up. We got to the restaurant a little late so we had to wait for a while before being seated. We had nine dishes including: - Meat & Cuttlefish on Steamed Rice - Soy Sauce Fried Noodles - Shrimp & Egg White Spring Rolls - Beef Vermicelli Rolls - Pan-Fried Stuffed Eggplant - Shrimp Dumplings / Ha Gao - Black Bean Steamed Spare Ribs - Steamed BBQ Pork Buns / Cha Siu Bao The total cost came out to $163 HKD, which is about $20 USD or $18 EUR. Pretty darn cheap!!! Ok so it felt kind of weird talking to the camera in public, but I still enjoyed it. If you guys want more vlog style videos in the future, let us know!
