Select the "pen tool" and enter two points at the bottom edges, then move upwards add one on the left, two in the middle, one on the right and then close the shape. Curve the two anchor points in the center by using the "convert anchor point tool". Step # 2 -- Alter the grass Add gradient to this shape with the right color stop at the value "R=171 G=218 B=77" and the color stop on the left at "R=51 G=160 B=44". Step # 3 -- Work on its copy Copy this shape and paste it at the back in the same position by pressing "ctrl + c" then "ctrl + f". While selecting the copy go to the "object" menu, drop down to "transform" and select the "reflect" option. Now reflect this shape on the vertical axis at 90 degrees. Adjust the gradients so as to make the edge of the hills at the back a little darker. Step # 4 -- Make the sky Next, make a rectangle the size of your canvas, give it a blue gradient and send it at the back by right clicking, going to "arrange" and pressing the "send to back" option. Step # 5 -- Make the sun For the sun draw a circle by making a shape with the ellipse tool while pressing down the shift key. This makes a circle instead of the ellipse. Enter a yellowish gradient with the shade of the left color stop at "R=254 G=222 B=88" and the right one at "R=237 G=179 B=41". Keep the angle of the gradient at 90 and shift the sun behind the hills. Step # 6 -- Make ellipses To make clouds, use the ellipse tool from amongst the different Illustrator shapes. Add a bluish-white gradient fill to it. Make overlapping ellipses which we will then combine to convert them to clouds. Step # 7 -- Apply the "unite" option Open the "pathfinder" panel by selecting it from the "window" menu. Select all of the ellipses and press the "unite" button on the pathfinder panel. Place the cloud wherever you wish. You can copy and paste it according to your scene. Step # 8 -- Make a road To create a road simply draw its shape with a pen tool with a fill with values at "R= 51, G=51, B=51". Adjust its size to give it perspective. Your vector art is now ready. You can do further detailing in it if you wish.

These objects can be inbuilt or can be made with the help of the drawing tool. There are different types of tools existing in the draw menu that will help you. SketchUp provides you with a variety of already existing objects and also allows you to make your own and save them for later use. Step # 1 -- Making a rectangle In this model, let's make a window and turn that into a component. To make the window, first make its shape with the "rectangle" tool. Step # 2 -- Making lines at midpoints Divide it into portions by means of the "line" tool. Draw a line at the midpoint of the shape, and then further divide the portions created. Step # 3 -- Creating offsets Next, using the "offset" tool, draw inner boundaries of the four rectangles that you created. Step # 4 -- Creating openings Push these planes inside using the "Push/Pull" tool. This creates a depth for the window. Once this is done, delete these planes by clicking on them with the "select" tool and pressing the "delete" button on the keyboard. Step # 5 -- Removing the back wall Since there are two planes behind it, once you delete these four planes select the one behind it and remove it as well. Step # 6 -- Selecting the window It will be time consuming if you make these windows separately for different walls. Therefore, it is always better to make it into a component. Select the window; navigate around the complete model to make sure that only the window has been selected. Right click on the window structure and choose the "make component" option. Step # 7 -- Creating a component A settings menu pops up. Adjust its settings to the ones shown. Press "create" to make it a component. Step # 8 -- Moving the component After this window is created with the help of a drawing tool and is made into a component it gets grouped. When you move it now, the gap also moves around with it. This component can be entered anywhere in the model. Step # 9 -- Going to the components windows First open the component panel by going to the "window" menu and pressing the "component" option. Step # 10 -- Dragging out the component You are now provided with a list on inbuilt 2d and 3d Sketchup components. To select the one you just built, click the button on the top which has a house made on it. It takes you to the list of components inside the model. Select the window and place it on any of the surfaces you want. Do this by just dragging the window out and placing it wherever you want to.

It is always beneficial to have an understanding of how to work with compound paths and shapes in Adobe Illustrator. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this software you have the option of making compound paths rather than just single ones. Different Illustrator paths can be combined and joined together to form a single one. Therefore, make shapes in Illustrator and then after doing so you can combine them together. Step # 1 -- Draw inside the shape Over here, there are two images traced from the pen tool. Inside the second illustration, use the rounded rectangular shape tool to draw another shape. To distinguish it, use a different color. Step # 2 -- Make a compound path Close up on this image to see properly. To make a compound path, use the selection tool, keep pressing down the "shift" key and select both objects. Now, go to "object" on the menu panel, drop down to "compound path" and then select "make". This joins both of the paths and creates a hollow space, where the inside object was. A hollow space is created because both of these paths run in opposite directions. Step # 3 -- Remove the hollow space If you want to change the hollow space, then go to "windows" and open the "attributes" panel. There are two options given, "reverse path direction on" and "reverse path direction off". If you click off, then the hollow portion gets filled with the same color as the rest of the image. Step # 4 -- Make the space hollow again To reverse this and make it hollow again, click on the "use even - odd fill rule" option on the same panel. To re-confirm if the inside shape is hollow, take this illustration on top of the other image. You can see the other image underneath the one you traced. Bring it back to its original position by pressing "ctrl + z" to undo the action. Step # 5 -- Open the compound shapes options First change the color of the inside shape so that it is more visible. Now, to understand the compound shapes option go to "window" and open the "pathfinder" panel. The "shape modes" can be used from here. Select both objects and use "shape modes". Step # 6 -- Unite both shapes The first one unites both of the shapes. The color selected in the color box fills in the whole shape. Step # 7 -- Select the "minus front option" The next option is "minus front". Clicking this, removes whichever object was in the front. Undo your action to bring the object back to its original position. Step # 8 -- Choose the "intersect" option The third option, "intersect" removes all parts of the image except the ones that intersect with each other. To understand this better, drag one illustration so that it intersects with the other. Select them both and click on this option. The portions of the images that now remain are the bits that were intersecting. Undo you action to bring the illustrations back. Step # 9 -- Apply the "exclude" option Select both of these images and apply the last option. Now, the intersecting portion disappears. Step # 10 -- Combine shapes without combining their paths It is possible to combine two shapes through "unite", yet not combine their paths. For example, make two intersecting rounded rectangles. Select both of them, keep pressing "alt" on your keyboard and click "unite". Even though you have created a compound shape, you can still edit their Illustrator paths separately. When you feel you are done editing them, press "expand" on the pathfinder panel, it will unite these two shapes completely. Step # 11 -- Release the compound path You can release the compound path in Illustrator by going to the "object" menu, dropping down to "compound path" and then pressing "release".

How to Use the Fill and Gradient Tool in Adobe Illustrator

02:42
In this tutorial you would be learning how to fill color in an object and add gradient tool in Adobe Illustrator. How to use the Illustrator gradient color tool in Adobe Illustrator is fairly simple. This tool provides you with the option of adding a gradient fill in illustrator to your art work. Through this you can add a blend of colors to your drawing. It is also very simple to change the gradient fill of any object you seem to be working on. Illustrator gradient color can also be used to give a 3-D effect to your image with just varying colors inside it. Step # 1 -- Add color to the vector shape To use these tools make sure you have a vector image, one that you made yourself or a template that you might have downloaded. In this tutorial, there is a circle made using the "shape" tool. When you click on this image, you will see various anchor points. These show that this circle is a vector image, which allows you to use the "color" and the "gradient" tool. Go to the color box available at the bottom of your tool bar which is present on the left hand side of the page. To select the color option, double click the color box which gives you various options to choose from. Select the one you like. Click the "ok" button to apply the color. Since the circle is one object, it will get filled entirely with your selected color. Step # 2 -- Add gradient to the shape You can now add gradient to the circle as well. First of all, let us add gradient in grayscale and then you can change it to color. To add gradient to the illustration, select the "Gradient Tool" and click with it on the panel you wish to gradient fill. You will see that a scale emerges. You can use it to vary and adjust your gradient settings. These settings can also be adjusted from the gradient settings panel available on the right hand side. Press the gradient tab and you can adjust the settings from the bar by moving the sliders. You can play with the tone of the illustration according to your requirement. Move around the gradient slider to see where in the image you want to put which tone. You can even rotate the gradient bar to rotate the gradient itself. Step # 3 - Change the tone of the gradient To give the image a 3D effect, you can make the darker tone a little lighter. In order to do this, make these tones merge together. This can be done by double clicking on the slider and choosing a lighter tone. Step # 4 -- Select the different gradient styles In the gradient panel available on the right hand side, you can even choose the type of gradients you want. There are four options you can choose from. You can choose any one of them to give your image various effects. There are further options in the other drop down menu. You can select if you want a linear or a radial gradient. You can always undo if you wish to bring the gradient back to its original state. Step # 5 -- Choose the gradient color To change this panel from grayscale to color, click on the gradient slider as shown. Press the drop down arrows and select the color scale that you want. In this tutorial, we will work with "CMYK". Now choose the color that you want. A 3D effect can also be given in the color to make the circle appear like a sphere. In order to do this, double click the gradient slider on the extreme right and choose a darker shade for its color. Then add another slider by clicking on the bar. Choose a lighter tint for this slider in the same color. Keep the color white on the left slider. You can add as many sliders with different colors as you want.

Step # 2 -- Make group Select this object that you just made, right click on it and choose the "make group" option. Step # 3 -- Draw a path Draw another line, emerging from the center of the illustration. This line is there to serve as the path for the joint that you will put. Step # 4 -- Make cylinder Separately, make a circle, extrude it by means of the "push/Pull" tool and then make it into a single group. Step # 5 -- Insert the joint Now zoom in to the extruded rectangle and select the "hinge" joint. While this joint is selected, click once where the path is intersecting the shape. Click once more and then define the path, this appears blue because it is parallel to the blue axis. Step # 6 -- Place the disk Now place the extruded circle above the rectangle such that the created path runs through it. Step # 7 -- Connect the joint Select the "joint connecter" option above, click the joint, keep pressing the "control" key and select the circular disk. This joins the two. A green outline appears when they get connected. Step # 8 -- Group the joint Now, with the select tool click the rectangle, keep pressing the "shift" key, select the joint, right click and then choose the "make group" option. This joins the joint with this object. Step # 9 -- Make the state static Right click on this new group, then go to "sketchyphysics", "state" and select the "static" option. Such additional Google Sketchup plugins provide you with advanced features in the software. Step # 10 -- Create motion Press the "play" button and the disk will now move once you create motion manually. You can delete this current joint, add any another and join it with these objects by repeating the same process to create Sketchup animation.

These house plans and other designs can then be adjusted to a scale and worked upon. To import to SketchUp and work in it you just have to follow very basic steps. Step # 1 -- Select the "import" option To bring the floor plan into the software go to the "file" menu and press the "import" option. Step # 2 -- Import the floor plan Over here the floor plan that you are uploading onto SketchUp is a scaled drawing of a plan. When you are importing an image there are three options existing on the side that you can choose from. Select the "use as image" option. Step # 3 -- Place the image Once you have the picture, select its placement and left click. Now, select the size of the image and click again. Navigate around to see the top view of the plan. Step # 4 -- Measure the wall Press "t" to shift to the "tape measure" tool. From this you can measure the length of the rooms. In the plan the dimensions of the rooms are mentioned. What is a good feature of SketchUp is that you can resize the whole model according to the dimensions you specify. Step # 5 -- Resize the floor plan To do this, measure a corner with the "tape measure" tool and without doing anything else type its actual length in the measurement bar, which is "12' " in this case. SketchUp will ask you if you want to resize the complete model click on "yes". However, what you need to make sure is that the floor plan that you import to SketchUp is a drawing which is to scale because when your model gets resized it does in proportion to the measurement you just provided. Step # 6 -- Measure the new dimensions When you measure the walls now, they will approximately be equal to your actual lengths. This is because the drawing can contain certain discrepancies; Google SketchUp is more accurate so go according to its measurements. This way you can easily import house plans and designs to make them more accurate and use SketchUp to help you convert these 2D drawings to 3D.

How to Write the Best Proposal for Elance.com

Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Looking for work on Elance.com can be a very exhausting task. No matter what Digital profession you are in, there is a lot of competition out there. Especially because you are bidding against contractors globally. As such, here are a few tips on writing the best proposals on Elance.com so that you can secure more projects. Tip number 1 - Always keep your proposals brief - Clients on Elance will usually have to sift through tons of proposals for their projects. In doing so, they don't have time to hear your entire life story. Keep your proposal as short as possible as a whole. In fact, as a general rule of thumb, the less you say with more words, the more powerful you will come off to a client who doesn't have time to waste. Tip number 2 - Always make your proposals personal - A lot of times, contractors on Elance will attempt to bid on every project that is in their field by copying and pasting a proposal with their name, a brief introduction about themselves, and a long list of portfolio work. In order to stick out with potential clients, always start off the proposal by stating a fact or something relevant to their project. Also, proposing a question about the project's details will instantly catch the client's attention and may even get you a faster response time. Tip number 3 - Keep It About The Client - In order to catch the attention of the client, make sure to keep the proposal about how they will benefit from choosing you as the contractor for their project. Avoid boasting so much about yourself and your experience, instead, mention briefly what it is that you do, then add a few links to the proposal in order to give them something to compare your work to. As a side note, never give too many sample links, as this tends to be counterintuitive and can overwhelm the client looking at your work. Instead, list links to your work that best reflect the type of job that the client is looking for. Tip number 4- Never Sell Yourself Short - A lot of times, contractors will try to sell themsevles short by underbidding their services in order to get work on Elance.com. However, doing this on a constant basis will eventually leave you burnt out. Instead, try taking a look at the "lowest bid" "highest bid" and "average bid" located under the "total proposals" on the project page. Gauging from this range, place your amount accordingly. If the highest bid is still below your standards for working on a particular project, consider stepping away and looking for another project instead. You can also give a solid proposal and chose to "submit amount later" and discuss a rates once you have the clients attention.

Objects can now be given a 3-dimensional effect by using the Illustrator perspective tool on the perspective grid. This tool allows you to give a whole new perception to your image. To understand this tool further, follow the steps below. Step # 1 -- Select the "perspective grid tool" The tool panel in Adobe Illustrator cs5 has two perspective options. If you keep pressing the "perspective grid tool", another option appears. This is known as the "perspective selection tool". For this second option to work, first select the perspective grid. Step # 2 -- Drag the object into perspective For doing this choose the "perspective selection tool". On the current page you have flat objects and a 3-dimensional grid. To convert these objects and to bring them in perspective, select them with this tool. Drag the illustrations wherever you want o on the page. As you select them with the "perspective selection tool", they will automatically come in perspective. Moving any shape around now will move it in perspective. Step # 3 -- Alter the shape This tool also allows you to expand or contract your shape. Use the handles on the border of the shapes, to drag and increase its size. Step # 4 -- Define the grid An essential thing to know while bringing these objects in to perspective is, to how to define which grid you want them to stick to. Right now, these two shapes are stuck to the "left grid". This is because this grid was selected on the "widget" that appears after you choose the Illustrator perspective tool. If you change the grid from here, then whichever flat object you move now will get snapped to the right grid. Step # 5 -- Move the object to another grid You can also move an object from one grid to another. For example, if you want to move this rectangle from the left grid to the right one, then keep selecting it and press the keyboard shortcut for selecting the right grid, which is "3". The shape automatically shifts its grid. You can now move it in perspective according to your requirement. Step # 6 -- Add perspective to the text Text can also be brought in to perspective the same way. To do this, select the text box and enter your text. Press "ctrl + t" to open the text panel. From here you can choose the font type and size. Now choose the "perspective selection tool" and drag the text. It will automatically snap to the grid you have selected. Even after it snaps to the grid you can still edit it. Use this and other Illustrator tutorials to learn more about this software and its tools.

Freeze panes in order to make the headings for each columns stay visible even if you scroll down. Data from one cell can also be split into multiple cells in order to divide off the data and make it appear organized categorically. In this tutorial, we will show you how to freeze panes and split cell data into multiple cells in excel. Step 1: Splitting cells Firstly, one can choose to split cells which have names in them; keep the first names in one column and the last name in another. In order to do so, insert a new column right next to the column in which the names are written. Now, select all the cells which have names present in your Excel workbook. Go to the "data" tab and click on the "text to columns" button which is located in the "data tools" group. Step 2: Setting delimiters Make sure that the file type is set to "delimited" and then press the "next" button. Since the names are separated by spaces, set the "delimiters" to "space" and press the "next" button. Once this has been done, click on the "Finish" button. The first and last names will now be split. Step 3: Freezing panes The main reason of freezing rows or columns is that people don't want the data in those rows or columns to move when they scroll down or rightwards. Usually, the frozen panes contain headings. Go to the "View" tab and click on the "Freeze Panes" button which is located in the "Window" group. When you click on the "freeze top row" option, only the top row will be frozen. Similarly, if you click on the "freeze first column", only the first column will be frozen. In this tutorial, the data in row 7 and all that above row 7 will freeze. Now, go to the "view tab"and click on the "Freeze panes" button. Step 4: Inserting a Page Break New page breaks can be created by going to the "Page layout" tab and selecting the row above which you want the panes to be frozen. Once done, click on the "Breaks" button and then click on the "insert page break" option.

Step # 3-Select and apply Spot Healing Brush tool To remove the wrinkles use the 'Spot Healing Brush Tool' from the toolbar on the left and drag long lines on all the wrinkles. On the next page check the box to accept the terms and conditions and click "Continue" again. You will then need to enter your traveller information and then click "Continue". Blogger vs. Blogspot. Discover the Difference

This video is going to quickly give you a run-down of the difference between Blogger and Blogspot. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Blogger and Blogspot are actually both owned by Google but they do two rather different things. It's hard to look at Blogger vs Blogspot as they are different services. Step # 1 -- Blogger First, let's explain Blogger. This is the standard blogging service from Google. If you visit "www.blogger.com" you will see your blogs dashboard (if you don't have a blog you will be able to log in and create one). You can use Blogger to create posts and put them online -- this is essentially what Blogger is -- a straightforward blogging platform. Step # 2 -- Blogspot Now, Blogspot ties in very closely with this is it is where the blogs from Blogger are actually hosted. So, when we click on the "View blog" button in our Blogger dashboard we will be taken to a URL that has ".blogspot" in it, following on from your blogs chosen name. This is essentially what Blogspot is -- the place that Google hosts your blog. Step # 3 -- Custom URLs Until recently it was possible to use Blogger but not Blogspot, by using Blogger to create your blog but hosting it on your own site. Now users have to use Blogspot to host, but they can buy a custom URL if they wish. This can be bought by going back to the Blogger dashboard, clicking the "More options" icon, then clicking settings. Click "Add a custom domain" on this page to get more information about buying an address. This has just been a quick rundown of Blogger vs Blogspot.

Adobe premiere pro allows you to fully integrate with different platforms so that you can directly import project files to the bin. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to integrate After Effects with Adobe Premiere CS6. Step 1 -- Creating separate effects layer In order to integrate after effects in Adobe Premiere CS6, you can see that we are currently on After Effects right now, where we have composed an animated title sequence for Premier Pro. This sequence primarily consists of two text layers, where the text layers have been marked with toggle animation. We have also created a separate effects layer which will be adding glow on to the text layers. Step 2 -- Using the title layer Now, all you need to do is save the project and you are done. Next, we will move to Premiere Pro where we will be using that saved file as the title layer. Step 3 -- Importing the file Now you will need to Import the project file in Adobe Premiere. Browse through and select the file you want to import. Step 4 -- Selecting the composition file Import the project and it will ask you which composition you want to import. Since we have designed only one sequence, it will only show one option in the prompt window. Select the file and click on the "OK" button. Step 5 -- Using the overlay layer Now, you will have to drag the sequence onto the overlay layer in the timeline. Step 6 -- Transforming the size and position Moving forward, transform its size and position it on the screen. You can also increase the length and speed of the sequence using the "rate" option available in the stretch tool. Step 7 -- Pressing the enter key Once this has been done, you will need to hit the "enter" key on your keyboard in order to to render the sequence. In this manner, you can work with Premiere After Effects.
