Top 10 Awpers in CS History (#10-6) [HD]

Part Two (#5-1): http://youtu.be/cArqWYFkr-E Top 10 Awpers in CS History (#10-6) Created by Austin Townley Released: November 28, 2012 Special thanks to Josh Geha, and the countless number of people I consulted with to make this list as accurate and unbiased as possible. As with any list of this sort, there are endless opinions and variations of rankings. If your personal favorite wasn't #1, don't sweat. I welcome your constructive feedback or personal rankings, and more so truly thrive on them as those discussions are the driving force behind my videos. Music: "Sun Showers" by Grant Who? http://soundcloud.com/grantwho/alex-zelenka-sun-showers-grant is licensed under a Creative Commons license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ *** SPOILERS *** Additional notes. #10 Johnny R - Given that this is the final spot on the list, it could have gone to any number of players not included in the top ten. Ksharp, Friis, Fallen, Lex, Vilden and others were considered, however, none really stood out enough to usurp this legendary name. Hyb, who was featured in the trailer, was never seriously considered for the top ten. #9 Sunde - A true all-around player, his AWP ability can't be denied. After becoming the primary AWPer for mTw, the team had a historical 2008 season, winning five events, including WCG, and becoming the #1 team in the world. His time at the top was spectacular and unfortunately brief. #8 Walle - This will likely be the most controversial ranking. Just a few years ago the users on HLTV.org voted him the best AWPer of the decade. While certainly talented, the evidence is undeniably against him as he never won a major championship, often committing costly errors late in tournaments. One very clear memory is his AWP failing him versus JMC (Jax Money Crew) at CPL Winter 2005, ending the tournament for NiP. Walle was a gifted player, capable of brilliance and deserving of high regard, but any higher than this feels wrong given the inconsistency and inability to win the big one. #7 KK - Maybe the most underrated AWPer of all time. His name is regularly omitted in best AWPer discussions, despite the prowess he's shown with the gun. He (and wHimp) basically carried The Titans to ESWC gold in 2004. Although he mostly competed with runner up Danish teams after this, he displayed many dominating performances at large events with All The Rage and Gravitas Gaming. He was one of many players who stepped away from the rigors of top level cs for school, and we maybe never got to see how good KK could have been. #6 Delpan - The most difficult type of player to rank. Dominating but with a short career at the very top. It's hard to weigh the talent he's shown versus his accomplishments, but it's worth noting that SK improved after he was brought in to be their primary AWPer, having their best results since 2005. If the game had lasted another year, we very likely could have seen this name rise.

Top 10 Awpers in CS History (#5-1) [HD]

Part One (#10-6): http://youtu.be/CZOZZwoW5zs Top 10 Awpers in CS History (#5-1) Created by Austin Townley Released: November 29, 2012 Special thanks to Josh Geha, and the countless number of people I consulted with to make this list as accurate and unbiased as possible. As with any list of this sort, there are endless opinions and variations of rankings. If your personal favorite wasn't #1, don't sweat. I welcome your constructive feedback or personal rankings, and more so truly thrive on them as those discussions are the driving force behind my videos. *** SPOILERS *** Additional notes. #5 Cogu - Truly one of the most gifted players of all time. Unfortunately for his ranking, he's only won one major event, ESWC 2006, while failing to place in most others. I don't mean to offend Brazilian fans or players when I say this, but could you imagine this monster on any of the top teams from the last generation. Say Pentagram, SK or Fnatic? Scary. #4 Shaguar - One of the most successful early era careers of all time, and a fan favorite due to his movies and personality. While he was at times inconsistent, his ability to perform at the latest stages of the biggest tournaments conceal the few faults in his play. #3 Dsn - He was never as regarded as Walle or Shaguar in terms of explosiveness, yet all of a sudden we can look back on his career and find it's littered with absolutely dominating, godlike rounds and performances. While he played at the upper echelons of the Swedish scene for some time prior, he made waves with his performance against 3D at CPL Summer 2004, followed by a true breakout at CPL Winter 2004 with Begrip on his way to a 4th place finish. Perhaps the most admirable quality of Dsn is how consistent he was during so many years at the very top. #2 fRoD - Back when Complexity went on a run of great performances between late 2004 to late 2006, almost all of them were fueled by fRoD's AWP. I can't honestly remember a game where he wasn't on point, delivering breathtaking shots and rounds. When this video began development in 2010, he was not only my choice for #1 but the consensus top pick among those I discuss these rankings with. He transitioned back to 1.6 with great success in EG after playing CS:S in CGS, and through no fault of his own slips down a spot to make room for #1. #1 Markeloff - Over the last four years Markeloff has dominated on such an outrageous level he can safely be considered one of the ten best players in CS History. While fRod maintained the #1 position in the early stages of development for this video, over the last year it had become unanimous, between myself and every single individual I consult with, that Markeloff is the best AWPer in CS history. The ultimate combination of shotmaking ability, domination, consistency and success. Here's hoping we get to watch him play 1.6 at least once more before the game fades away entirely.

Ninja Defuse: Top 10 Clutches in CS History (#5-1) [HD]

05:24
Part One (#10-6): http://youtu.be/17ZVxjnsVeg Ninja Defuse: Top 10 Clutches in CS History (#5-1) Released: December 8, 2010. Created by Austin Townley Narrated by Alex 'Vansilli' Nguyen Special thanks to Griffin Benger, Joe Piazza, Josh Geha --- *** SPOILERS *** Our rankings explained. Without revealing player or team names (in case someone reads a spoiler before actually watching), I'll highlight just how important and/or difficult some of these rounds were in order to further communicate our decisions. Inevitably, there will be those that disagree, which is perfectly acceptable. Hopefully this will allow you to better understand our placements before telling us we're wrong. #5 This round embodies what clutch is. Alone against the best players in the world, yet in complete control from start to finish. The game may have been lost, but this clutch was still the defining moment of the tournament, and this player's career. A perfect combination of skill, intellect and patience during the second map of a very close CPL final. #4 Amazing. Just wonder -- what if they had won? We're not sure anyone could deny it the number one spot in a list such as this if that were the case. Sadly, losing as bad as they did almost makes it meaningless in a sense, if not for perhaps the most memorable commentating in history. #3 It's hard to fully explain how sensational this round is beyond just the brilliant play. While starting on one of the hardest sides of any current map to play, he earns his team two eco's, and control of the money system for potentially the entire half. It removes the dangerously real potential of being rolled in the half with a score like 13-2, guaranteeing the opportunity to reach at least gun rounds on the favorable side, even if you end up losing the next pistol. Perhaps most importantly, it puts a dagger directly into the opponents back and morale. Those who remember ESWC 2003, specifically zEx vs SK, understand vividly the weight carried by such a round win. #2 Maybe the simplest, yet most jaw dropping clutch ever. The only round in CS history to receive a tagline. This may not have taken place in a final or semi-final, but it was integral in creating one of the most notorious upsets in CS history. When we look back on the impact and scale of events in counter-strike, this is perhaps the game's most defining moment. #1 While number three may have had an incredible impact on an entire match, this round impacted a teams entire future, effecting the landscape of our game's storied history. This single round win, leading to a tournament championship, instigated a chain of events that would cause a legendary roster shakeup. In turn, new rivalries would be forged, new stars born, and the faces that had practically ruled the scene since day one would relinquish their crown, and begin an unexpected descent toward retirement. --- There were a lot of rounds fans brought up while waiting for part 2 to be released. Here are the rounds that weren't included, and why. Neo vs NiP, 1v2 1hp -- As you can tell, this list was heavily weighted by importance and impact. This round having taken place during a Clanbase match (online) lacked the significance to be considered. Ave vs Na'Vi, 1v3 deagle one deags -- The production on the movie was almost entirely done by the time this beautiful round happened, and we didn't anticipate demos being released, or a high quality stream cut. There's an extremely high likelihood it would've made the top 10. f0rest vs eSTRO, HeatoN vs 4K -- Neither of these rounds were actually 1vX, with their first kill taking place with at least 1 teammate alive.

Ninja Defuse: Top 10 Clutches in CS History (#10-6) [HD]

04:56
Part Two (#5-1): http://youtu.be/maF4yqEEwUc Ninja Defuse: Top 10 Clutches in CS History (#10-6) Released: December 1, 2010. Created by Austin Townley Narrated by Alex 'Vansilli' Nguyen Special thanks to Griffin Benger, Jason Baker, Joe Piazza, Josh Geha, and MFAVP. Live footage used with permission from Jason Baker, MFAVP. --- *** SPOILERS *** Our rankings explained. Without revealing player or team names (in case someone reads a spoiler before actually watching), I'll highlight just how important and/or difficult some of these rounds were in order to further communicate our decisions. Inevitably, there will be those that disagree, which is perfectly acceptable. Hopefully this will allow you to better understand the reasoning behind our placements. #10 - On the surface, these rounds don't look that incredible. However, it took place during the second and final map of a CPL championship match, against an extremely talented opponent. The first map of this final ended 16-14, which goes to show how close the second game could have been, and how important these rounds were in taking home the first major international title for the two players involved. #9 - This is by far one of the most impressive rounds ever. Forget the four insta-frags, and consider the situation. One versus five, as T on de_dust2, without the bomb planted. How impossible is that? To top it off that was his third ace of the game. The only reason it's ranked so low is that, in our humble opinion, Dreamhack (despite being a wonderful tournament), isn't near the caliber or prestige of CPL, ESWC, or WCG. #8 - This is an oldie but a goldie. A round that I imagine very few players have witnessed, even with a handful of CS videos available involving clutch frags. Despite a rather odd ending to the round, a clutch is a clutch. During this era, the edition of de_inferno was quite CT sided and it wouldn't have been as improbable to reel off 9 straight rounds to send it to overtime, as it would be today - especially given the money control already established by the defending team. #7 - Sorry. Really. There are those that swear this is the greatest round in history. It's just not. The situation wasn't as difficult as it seemed, with the opponents equipped with similar weapons. Then, in what was clearly a lapse in judgment, two players decide to engage Mr. 7 individually, almost begging him to win the round. #6 - As explained in the video, this round is quite similar to number seven. The difference? To start, this was a championship match, opposed to an upper bracket quarter-final. This round win clinched tie point. It's also infinitely more difficult to retake this bombsite, than the one in the previous clip. Bigger game, harder round, similar situation = better clutch.

fRoD vs 4Kings on cbble during CPL Winter 2005. Without a doubt one of the most famous demos of all time. He goes to town on CT posting 26 of his 29 total frags using mostly AWP. fRoD - Unreleased Top 10 Awpers Finale

Releasing this as a little Christmas present to all those who make creating Counter-Strike videos a true joy for me. Thank you so much to anyone who has watched, liked, disliked, commented, subscribed, or interacted with my videos in any way. A sincere thank you to Josh Geha, whose time and generosity have allowed me to create what I couldn't have without. Have a safe and merry Christmas, please don't drink and drive, and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. At one point during production of the 'Top 10 Awpers in CS History' movie, this was intended to be the finale, with fRoD placed #1. Over time the list changed, and with Markeloff overtaking the top spot, this segment had to be altered. I always enjoyed the clips and pacing of it, so I rendered it for a little bonus content.

mSx vs Roskilde Ravens for IEM 4 European Finals. He puts up 26 frags over a brief 17 round game, most of which were fast paced multi-frag rounds. There was a server plugin message every time he died.. I tried to reduce the saturation on reds so hopefully it doesn't distract anyone too much. n0thing vs fnatic at IEM 3 Global Challenge Los Angeles. This dominating 16-1 victory includes two 4k rounds among his 29 ct side frags, adding 3 more in a brief second half. Varied usage of famas, colt and AWP to defend all areas of the map display a versatile and skilled player with the composure to pick up a handful of frags while blind. cole vs instagib [Quake Live]

10:52
Haven't played Quake in a few years but a friend wanted me to join. About 50 frags in pregame and 50 more for the game. A little rusty at times but there are some nice sprees. Basically no editing except for a few periods of inactivity. Music: https://soundcloud.com/lenonsense/get-lucky-ln-edit-wip
